Undisputed Queen of the House
Slán abhaile my beautiful Dora. You stole my heart as a confident and curious three week old foster kitten. And when the time came to find you your furever home I knew it couldn't be anywhere else but with me.
It's been a week since you died in my arms, after struggling to stay with me for as long as you could. And the house you used to fill with cuddles and purrs feels less of a home without you.
I miss you waking me up with a cold nose to the face at some unnaturally early hour of the morning. Or complaining that it was past your 6 p.m. dinner time, an event you could predict with millisecond accuracy.
But most of all I miss your cuddles and seeing the love in your eyes. You always knew when I felt sad and would snuggle in a little closer to make me feel better. Something I could really do with right now.
You fought so hard to stay with me as long as you could and I was never going to be ready to say goodbye. So after all these years of loyalty and love I can't begrudge you your rest now.
