It is with an extremely heavy heart that, due to my illness, I MUST REHOME Indi, my 4 year old desexed black & tan female, so I'm looking for the right family to adopt her.
Ideally, I'd like to find a forever home:
🐶 that is preferably with a middle aged family who don’t work away from the home, and where someone is home most of the time
🐶 that is a knowledgeable dachshund home, where the breed is understood and well known
🐶 where she will be an integral part of the family (NO CHILDREN), as she is used to
🐶 where she will live inside the home, with free access to a secure backyard, as she is used to
🐶 where she will sleep on/in the beds with you, as she is used to
🐶 where she will be loved and adored for the remainder of her life, as she has been by me
Indi (09/05/2021) was bred by me, and has lived the majority of her life with only me, her female owner. She is desexed. Indi can show anxiety fear when approached too quickly. She is protective of, and loyal to her person. Indi needs someone with breed knowledge, understanding, and patience for her to adapt to her new environment, ultimately allowing her to become the best version of herself. While initially reserved, she transforms into an affectionate companion once she warms up in her surroundings. Indi possesses a serene soul, has a penchant for cuddles and attention, and also loves her belly rubs. Like most dachshunds, she will bark, however this is generally triggered by something unfamiliar to her, that she sees or hears; she loves to snuggle cuddle, curled up on your lap and touching you when snoozing; and she also loves to sleep in the big bed with you at night. Indi is NOT used to children at all, nor has she associated with cats, therefore homes with either of these may not be an ideal environment for her. I'm looking to rehome her, preferably with a middle aged family where someone is home most of the time, and able to take her on daily walks for exercise. Indi has grown up with other dachshunds, so would welcome a forever home with another small breed dog for company. Indi also comes with a lot of accessories she's accumulated over the years!
Given the above information, placing Indi in a mature, calm, quiet household, that is an established pet home with a mature middle aged family, and one without children who introduce unpredictability to her environment, would be preferable for her. Although she has not been exposed to cats, she will need to be tested around them if they are established in your household.
Keeping in touch via updates and photos would be very much appreciated, and perhaps the odd visit here and there would be wonderful! Indi's rehoming needs to happen asap, so if you feel you can provide her with the right home environment and you're interested, please check my RightPaw profile, apply for Indi, and message with your email address so information and my rehoming application form can be sent to you. Any questions, please ask!
