"Are they all grey?"
No, though the majority of the British Shorthair bred are what we call blue. Half of all British Shorthairs bred in Australia are blues.

"What is the difference between a British blue & a Russian blue?"
British have gold or.copper eyes. Russians have green eyes. British have a denser coat, the Russian coat is thick but soft and tends not to be as dense.
A British has a heavy semi-cobby body, fairly large and built for strength. A Russian is a lithe moderate kitten, a smaller leaner build that is great for speed and quickness.

It is very sad to read in British shorthair groups. Young cats passing from genetic diseases or from being very sick , when they have gone to new homes. British Shorthair breeders of Australia. Let's get on top of this. Have all breeding cats HCM scanned. Do all relevant DNA testing. I know of a couple that do. Can you write below your prefix and what state you are in if you do.To protect our loved breed. Test, Scan

We have received test results
For several of our breeding cats.
Which included what blood type they are. Which is important for a breeder to know.
All cats were tested for British shorthair autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome. Result Normal (which means they don't have so cannot carry)
Polycystic kidney disease Result Normal (which means they don't have so cannot carry)
Coat length Do not carry long hair gene

Our breeding program is on track.

Although we didn't breed this girl she was one of 3 we imported from New Zealand over the years. We are ever grateful to Raewyn Copland for her support with our breeding. Tellasee Lady Millicent is now 14 years of age. We called her Millie her family call her Alan. Lol Millie lives in Perth.
