πββ¬ π πββ¬ HAPPY HALLOWEEN πββ¬π πββ¬
We hope all our clients and furry friends have a spooktacular day tomorrow but remember that Trick or Treating is for humans only !
This is a friendly reminder to avoid all lollies and other products that may contain the artificial sweetener Xylitol as it is highly toxic to dogs even in small amounts
Xylitol is a naturally occurring substance that is used as a substitute for sugar in a range of foods and drinks and can quickly drop a dogβs blood sugar, which can be life-threatening if left untreated. Possible symptoms include: vomiting, weakness, disorientation, seizures & coma
Foods and drinks which can contain Xylitol include: sweets/lollies, mints, gum, baked goods, chocolate, ice-cream, medications, jam, juices, drink powders and supplements and rarely in peanut butter
If you suspect your dog has eaten any lollies or other products that may contain Xylitol please call us (33573882) or our friends at Pet Emergency 24hrs a day for advice on 33590777. You can also call the Australian Animal Poisons Hotline for free advice from 9-5pm every day on 1300869738. Useful links can be found below:

Now you might wonder why our poster boy Charles looks so pleased with himself . . . well that is because cats so far do not appear to suffer any ill-effects from Xylitol and also he looks absolutely stunning in his new Halloween outfit !
We would love to see your pets in their spookiest outfits so please post below and have a Happy Halloween πΎβ€οΈ
