Baby Lola the gorgeous 10 week old Golden Retriever has a microchip update for you all!

As most of you are aware, HomeSafeID the microchip registry is closing down but another registry Global Micro has announced that they will be re-registering pets free of charge!

If your pet is currently registered with HomeSafe ID, please follow the steps below to re-register with Global Micro Animal Registry at no cost.

https://globalmicroanimalregistry.snapforms.com.au/form/homesafe-id-re-registration-checklist

Please see our previous Facebook post for how to check your pets registry.

🚨 IMPORTANT MICROCHIP UPDATE 🚨

If your pet’s microchip is registered with HomeSafeID, take action now! HomeSafeID has gone into receivership, meaning their database is longer be accessible & if your pet is lost and their microchip scanned no owner details will be found.

βœ… Check your pet’s microchip registry at www.petaddress.com.au
βœ… If registered with HomeSafeID, transfer to a new registry such as:
Australasian Animal Registry
Global Micro Animal Registry
Central Animal Records
βœ… You can find your pet’s microchip number on your latest vaccination certificate or adoption paperwork.
βœ… If your pet was microchipped at Wilston Vet no action is needed as we do not use HomeSafeID.
βœ… If your pet was adopted from the RSPCA they will most likely be registered with HomeSafeID.

Re-registering ensures that your contact details can be found if your pet ever goes missing. A small registration fee applies, but it’s a small price for peace of mind! πŸΆπŸ±πŸ’™

If you have any questions about the process or wanted to have your pet scanned to check their microchip number then please contact us so our team can help you.

Wilston Vet is calling for respondents to a class action lawsuit for pets who have been Christmas-injured. πŸŽ„β„οΈ

This lawsuit will include; pets who have been traumatised by dress-ups, tricked by presents (eg empty boxes wrapped to look like a present), had their image used on a family Christmas card without their written permission or made to interact with a large bearded guy in a red suit who is frankly quite frightening. πŸŽ…πŸ» 🎁

Here is a small selection of the victims so far and their claims.

Please add your photo and name to the list and how you have been Christmas-injured. Our lawyers will be in contact with you in the new year.

Disclaimer: no pets were harmed in the making of this post. But several were very embarrassed. 🐢 😺

πŸˆβ€β¬› πŸŽƒ πŸˆβ€β¬› HAPPY HALLOWEEN πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸŽƒ πŸˆβ€β¬›

We hope all our clients and furry friends have a spooktacular day tomorrow but remember that Trick or Treating is for humans only !

This is a friendly reminder to avoid all lollies and other products that may contain the artificial sweetener Xylitol as it is highly toxic to dogs even in small amounts

Xylitol is a naturally occurring substance that is used as a substitute for sugar in a range of foods and drinks and can quickly drop a dog’s blood sugar, which can be life-threatening if left untreated. Possible symptoms include: vomiting, weakness, disorientation, seizures & coma

Foods and drinks which can contain Xylitol include: sweets/lollies, mints, gum, baked goods, chocolate, ice-cream, medications, jam, juices, drink powders and supplements and rarely in peanut butter

If you suspect your dog has eaten any lollies or other products that may contain Xylitol please call us (33573882) or our friends at Pet Emergency 24hrs a day for advice on 33590777. You can also call the Australian Animal Poisons Hotline for free advice from 9-5pm every day on 1300869738. Useful links can be found below:

www.pet-emergency.com.au
www.animalpoisons.com.au

Now you might wonder why our poster boy Charles looks so pleased with himself . . . well that is because cats so far do not appear to suffer any ill-effects from Xylitol and also he looks absolutely stunning in his new Halloween outfit !

We would love to see your pets in their spookiest outfits so please post below and have a Happy Halloween 🐾❀️

Adding a little Possum Magic to your day β˜€οΈ

Whilst baby Ringtail Possums are usually asleep in their mother’s pouch or their drey (nest) during the day, this little darling met with some misadventure so she was brought into the clinic for care until she could be transferred to the RSPCA wildlife team 🐾❀️

PART 2: Molly

Say hello to Molly and Bronx - two very sweet and savvy pooches. They may be vastly different in size but they have two things in common - they are both the sweetest doggos who crave cuddles and human affection and they both now have a mouth full of pearly white teeth after taking advantage of our August Dental Health Month Discount

Molly and Bronx have very committed owners who recently noticed a build up of calculus on their teeth so booked them in for a comprehensive oral examination under anaesthesia and a thorough scale and polish. Bronx also required the removal of a few benign gingival growths and extraction of his gigantic lower canine tooth that had pulpitis (inflammation in the pulp cavity of the tooth which eventually becomes very painful and causes a tooth root abscess)

We are pleased to report both Molly and Bronx are recovering well and that their owners were very pleased that their dental treatment was 10% less than expected due to our dental promotion this month. If you would like to take advantage of our limited time offer and ensure your pet’s oral health, book in now for your free oral health assessment and 10% discount on all dental treatments. Please be advised that spaces are limited so please contact us ASAP 🦷🐾❀️
