Dog experts trace Scottish White Terriers (Westies) back as far as the 1500s, during the reign of James VI of Scotland. It is believed that the king ordered a dozen terriers sent to the Kingdom of France as a gift.

In this piece I decided to bring a modern take to these beautiful heritage breeds (with coats as white as snow) onto a luscious pink background.

Mother's Day magic!

Remy and Humphrey are, of course the inspiration for this piece. I wanted to try and capture the fun, cheekyness and friendship they offer today and everyday.

This hand-embroidered schnauzer is the first piece in the new "Paws to Thread" series from Brave Little Beards. Hand stitched using 100% cotton and french cotton DMC thread.
