Hey I need to pick your brains!

Does anyone have any suggestions on switching insurance providers? my Bow Wow Meow renewal has come in over $1700 for this next year for my almost 10 year old Charlie who is blind and partially deaf.

I'm frustrated at them for not covering anything when he went deaf (due to ear infection) as all the visits (which almost totalled $1500) never had a single visit over the $500 excess (even though it was the same illness with multiple visits over 3 weeks)

Has anyone made the switch? or any downsides to switching?

Thanks :)
