I’ve been in Bali for a week now, with another week still to go, its felt like a slow exhale after closing one big chapter in Australia. I’ve spent time wandering through villages, dipping my hands into hidden waterholes, and soaking up the quiet rhythm of life outside the busy cities.
There’s something about the way people live here, with such openness and ease that’s left me feeling steadier, like the ground under me finally softened again.
And of course… even on holiday I couldn’t help myself. The local dogs, running wild and free, found their way in front of my lens more times than I expected. There’s a rawness to them, a kind of unfiltered joy, that reminded me why I started photographing animals in the first place.
As many of you know, I’ve now wrapped up my time with The Furtography Studio and I’m getting ready to move home to New Zealand. This little Bali reset has been exactly what I needed before stepping into what’s next.
Here’s some of the moments that stayed with me. A reminder that the world is wide, tender, and full of stories—if we pause long enough to see them.
