Hands down, it's lead walking.

Some of the issues that stem from lead walking include reactivity to dogs or people, yanking or pulling on the lead, frustration barking, and generally not listening to cues from owners.

At Luna Rae Dog Training, our mission is to strengthen the bond between dogs and their humans through compassionate, science-based training that builds trust, confidence, and lifelong communication.

We look at the dog as a whole, not just the end behaviour, and offer practical, achievable steps to meet a client's behaviour goals for their dogs.

We travel to your home, where the behaviours often stem from, and work with you to create a unique and customised training plan. As the sessions progress, we develop your dog's threshold and responsiveness in your neighbourhood, giving you more peaceful, connected walks.

💛 Meet Cooper 💛

Cooper is a playful, vivacious 2 yr old pup with a heart of gold and a zest for life.
He lives for his balls and toys, and wants nothing more than to please.

His pawrents contacted us for some help with his lead reactivity towards selected dogs on his walks, and particularly dogs that were running past with their owners.

Cooper is also scared of the windscreen wipers in the car, making it very difficult (and dangerous) to drive him in the rain.

We've been working through some skills to grow Cooper's confidence, reduce his frustration, and have more peaceful walks.

We'd love to help more families with lead reactivity, baby & kid dynamics, and anything in between.
There is only so much you can learn online, and with 11+ years in the industry, we've learnt a thing or two about getting the best results with the least amount of guessing.

Thank you to Billie's family for this kind google review!

We've been working with Billie on increasing her focus on walks and reducing reactivity, particularly around other dogs and people. Billie is super friendly but also super frustrated when she can't reach things when she's walking.

In this week's session, you can see her lying down near where some dogs are playing and chasing balls in the park - no barking from Billie and super relaxed looking up at her mumma!

And the absolute highlight for me is Billie's crinkle cut fur on her ears 😍 very 90s fashion ✨️

You better believe my camera roll is filled with dog photos 😄

I did some crossover training as a lion tamer 🦁 and came to puppy Gemma & old soul Finn's house.

Gemma's a 14 week old Leonberger and was already hitting 20kg+ !!! She's got the typical puppy vibe - mouthy, bitey, chewy, and looks like an angel in the process and therefore is absolved of her guilt.

Gemma's got 3 older siblings - and 8yr old Leonberger brother (who I actually met as a teenager, watch for the last photo) , and two little humans 👧 👦 so we went over some basic puppy stuff, and also ways to help Gemma integrate into the busy family.

It's always an absolute pleasure to see this lovely family, thanks for having me!
