A trick a lot of horsemen use to help a horse understand that the snaffle goes over the tongue, not under. No, shortening the snaffle to create wrinkles does not help all horses… the twine lifts the center of the snaffle and blocks the tongue from slipping over. This happens maybe two colts a year that I resort to doing this. And it doesn’t take many rides to fix it.

It’s obstacle week! My favourite week for horses, especially the breakers. Obstacles are fantastic not only for giving them a bit of a brain break, but they also:

🐴 Help with working out where their feet are and where to place them safely
🐴 Get horses used to walking onto different textures
🐴 Prepares them for float loading

While the obstacles are up, we often use it as a training tool for all our other ridden horses for something different.

Annie has been with us for a while now and it's time for her to find a new home.

Annie has been there done that from show jumping, eventing, dressage, camp drafting and team penning.

When it comes to cattle work its clear that's where she’s at home.

She would best suit a confident rider as she can be a typical chestnut mare after a break. No buck or rearing just likes to argue the point until she is over it.

Catches you in the paddock, great to shoe but only shod fronts currently, self loads on the float, perfect to wash and clip, a pleasure of a mare to be around.

Only for sale as it’s clear she wants a job to do and we have too many in work currently.
