Today, we’re celebrating the Dads and Fur-Dads who are lucky enough to still have their beloved pets by their side, sharing the walks, cuddles, adventures and everyday moments that make life so special. ❤️🐾

"Just over two weeks ago we said our final goodbye to our beautiful Labrador, Boston, and would like to say there are simply not enough words to express how grateful we are to Dr Sarah at Brisbane Pet Farewell and the wonderful team at Paws to Heaven. Saying goodbye to our precious boy was one of the hardest things our family has ever experienced, yet every person we encountered showed us such kindness, compassion, and genuine care. We will always be thankful for the support we received during such a heartbreaking time.

A very special thank you to Sharon and Leah for the compassion and understanding they showed our family during such an emotional time. Their kindness meant so much to us. We would also like to sincerely thank Marty for bringing our beautiful boy back home to us. Having Boston returned safely to us was incredibly meaningful, and we are so grateful that he was cared for with such dignity throughout his final journey.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Boston's final journey was surrounded by kindness, dignity, and love from beginning to end. That is a gift our family will never forget.
Thank you, Dr Sarah, Sharon, Leah, Marty, and everyone at Brisbane Pet Farewell and Paws to Heaven, for helping us give our beautiful boy the peaceful and loving farewell he deserved. You made an impossible day a little easier, and we will always hold that close to our hearts.

🌟 When Grief and Relief Coexist 🌟

Sometimes grief comes with an emotion we don't expect: relief.

✨ Relief that their pain has ended.
✨ Relief that they can finally rest.
✨ Relief that you no longer have to watch them struggle.

And alongside that relief can be overwhelming heartbreak because they're no longer here. 💔
You may even feel guilty for feeling relieved.
But relief doesn't mean you loved them any less.
Two emotions can exist together. 💞

You can be grateful that their suffering has ended and desperately wish you had more time with them.
Both are expressions of how deeply you cared.

Be gentle with yourself. Grief doesn't always come with one emotion at a time. 🐾

🌟 A beautiful soul, a legendary heart. 🤍🌟

The world is still deeply mourning the recent passing of Dolly Parton, but her legacy of unconditional love and pure kindness will live on forever.

While Dolly was celebrated across the globe for her music and her advocacy for children's literacy, her massive heart also extended to every four-legged creature. She used her voice, her platform, and her resources to support numerous animal rescues and animal charities, ensuring vulnerable pets were always cared for and given a second chance.

From her beloved pet line Doggy Parton - which directly funded Nashville's Willa B Farm Animal Rescue - to her collaborative work with animal welfare organisations, she was a true angel for animals.

🌟 Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day | 28 August 🌈🌟

Today, we pause to remember the pets we have loved and lost. 🐾💔

For bereaved pet parents, grief does not follow a timeline. A favourite photo, an empty bed, the sound of paws you can no longer hear or a familiar routine can bring the memories flooding back in an instant.
Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day is a gentle reminder that although our beloved companions are no longer by our side, they are never truly absent from our lives. Their paw prints remain in our memories, our homes and our hearts.

Today, light a candle. Share a photo. Say their name. Tell someone about the pet who changed your life.

And if today feels especially difficult, that's okay too. There is no right way to remember and no right way to grieve.

To all the beautiful pets we are missing today:
