On behalf of DEC we would like to congratulate all the Prize Getters of the EXCA Australian Nationals 2026. Too every competitor that competed at Nationals you are all winners for just getting into the arena and giving it a go.

Downunder Extreme Cowboys hosted their Inaugural Downunder Cowboy Challenge this year in 2026 as part of the 2026 EXCA Australia Nationals and what an event it was.

In partnership with the Major Sponsor Black Diamond Performance Horses, we were able to deliver this showcase event.

On Friday night we witnessed 14 Competitors compete for the place in the Top Ten Final to be held on the Saturday Night.

And what an amazing job all those competitors did in that round.
The final round started at 7.30pm on Saturday and the Top Ten fought it out for that $3,750 in Cash and Prizes.

After approximately an hour of competition we had our Champion, only 0.03 of a point separated 1st and 2nd, and 0.05 of a point separated 4th and 5th.

A big Thank You to our Judge David Cowley (Canada) for your technical and challenging courses.

Downunder Extreme Cowboys continues to hope running this new event into the future, but that its not possible without you the Amazing Competitors who get out there every time and give it a go.

But also, the amazing support from not only our Major Sponsor Black Diamond Performance Horse, but also our Ruby and Silver Sponsors that contributed to the prize money pool for this event. (Thank You)

Well what an Event the 2026 EXCA Australian Nationals were;

Absolutely amazing how dedicated this family has come together as one in true EXCA Style - The EXCA Family in Australia is definitely growing and continuing to Grow...

Downunder Extreme Cowboys and Shane Woodall bought this sport to Australia just over 10 years ago and Downunder Extreme Cowboys is celebrating its 10 year Anniversary.

And what a family it is to be a part of, whether its competitors, supporters, volunteers, friends of friends this sport is becoming even more and more supportive of all involved.

The true sportsmanship was shown over the Anzac Weekend, where all competitors did an amazing job irrespective of where the results came out.

Some of the results in some divisions were super close, closer than I've ever seen before.

A massive congratulations to each and every one of you that got out there and gave it a go, you are all winners in our eyes.

To David Cowley who came out from Canada to Judge this event Thank you for your Challenging Courses and for everything you did over the 4 days at the event.

I'm sure those that participated in your mini clinics and joint clinic with Shane Woodall have gained a massive amount of insight to work on with their partner (horse) into the future.

These events don't just happen with Competitors, it takes Sponsors and Volunteers to ensure they run smoothly.

Thank You to each and every person that volunteered to assist in all areas of running the event. Scribes, Timekeepers, Course Re-setters, Gate Person, Admin and any where we needed to fill.

Good Evening Everyone !!

Less than 24 hours before we starting landing in Ballarat for the 2026 EXCA Australian Nationals

Mt Rowan Equestrian Centre at the Ballarat Showgrounds in Rose Hill Rd, Mt Rowan

Those of you joining David Cowleys Mini Clinic at 12.00pm - Checkin Opens at 11.30am when the venue opens, this first session is on the outdoor warm up arena.

No one is able to enter the facilities until 11.30am. And no entry to the Main Arena until 1.30pm as there is another event running at the same time.
