Busy times at Highland View lately.
Spring has sprung, the daffs have bloomed and gone thanks to the unwanted resident hares. The peonies are well and truely on their way,
Iโve been busy mowing around them and spreading lime, hoping it gives them a little boost before flowering.
The Wheat and silage paddocks are holding on ok, now itโs finally dry enough to spread fert and spray we can get those jobs done and hope for good yields and enough bales to keep the highlands happy.
Our four highland heifers are due to drop very soon, Iโve been watching very closely for movement everyday, Iโm sure it will happen in good time.
Lambing has finished with a total of 74 lambs, hopefully the lush spring feed helps them along ready for sale, huge thanks to Will, Babette & Dad for helping landmark and getting the sheep all sorted.
Iโm learning with Marty away harvesting, there doesnโt seem to be enough hours in the day to achieve all the jobs and in farming there is always something that gets in the way of a good plan.
Nevertheless we soldier on and get up the next day and do what we didnโt get done the day before (or try to anyway).
