One week to go for our first farm tour day. 10am, 11am 12 pm
If anyone is interested at the end of the 12pm tour we will be holding a little demo on learning to cull your babies respectfully , humanely and mess free.

Breeding chicks there will be a time you maybe put on the spot to make the hard decision to euthaise your babies wether its to end their suffering, dispatching your birds for the table or too many cockerels, it feels terrible but is a great skill to learn to make sure you are doing it properly . You’re welcome to bring your own cockerals if you’d like some guidance on doing your own yourself.

Who has a cuckoo orp that gets into mischief ?
Out of all my chicken breeds, these guys are the naughtiest and probably the friendliest. Leave a door open they’re laying eggs on your bed. Trip over them as they are always at your feet and the First thing they do is check out the veggie garden gate is not open for a buffet breakfast or steal food out of your mouth if you let them 🤣.

Nothing like chainsawing a bull off a log on a Sunday arvo🤣 he’s lucky dad found him when he did.
There’s days on the farm where you can only shake your head and laugh 🤭no balls whoops i mean bulls were harmed only egos 😬

Farm tours are back on first sunday of each month . Except the first one will be on a Saturday 6th as it’s Father’s Day Sunday.
What to expect
🐔We will offer 3 guided tour times a day
10:15am , 11:15am , 12:15pm
No need for bookings, just turn up just before the Tour Times.
🐓During the tour times the gate will be closed so i can leave the shed and open again after farm tour. We will offer chick and pullet purchases 15 min before ea tour incase you dont want to do a tour or done it before .
🪏🫜🧑‍🌾The farm tour will include an informational tour and chat about all our breeds , incubation, nutritional, chicken health information and permaculture planning followed by feeding the alpacas, deer maybe cows if the kids would like.
Best bit is it’s FREE.

🐥The chicken shed and say hello/feed to the alpacas, deer etc will be open every other weekend starting after September 6th 10-12
just not open to walk around the yard.

We have had to to make the unfortunate decision to make open farm days guided, whilst 99% of people were awesome we had a few naughty people taking eggs from pens home and pullets from pens, walking around the livestock dogs , house areas, and entering our breeder pens last season. This way we all can enjoy it .

Who doesn’t love a good clump of sedge grass? Also pretty sure the favs love getting their camera time🤣 . We have had a pesky/greedy nuisance(I have some other explicit names for him as well 🤬) goshawk harassing us for the last couple of months so the smaller kids have only had limited time out on the lawn. To keep them entertained and their greens up to them we often dig up big clumps of grass or greens from the garden daily . If you don’t have access to big clumps like us. We also soak lucerne chaff for nice green treat when there is limited grass .
