Anyone got skills? I need a bookkeeper.. Things are getting too busy with the honey to keep an eye on the money! A million years ago back in Sydney (when I was a photographer) I had a lovely bookkeeper, we became friends after years of chats and coffees. Anyone got capacity for a small but fun business? Positions vacant. Things are getting busy at the honey farm, so we're looking for a few honey helpers! Just like our lovely bees in the hive, there are a few different roles we're looking to fill.
2x juniors to run the honey shop every weekend.
1x or more facilitators to run our one-hour tour every Saturday.

Juniors. We have a shop at our honey farm that is open every weekend 10 till 4pm. We are looking for some busy bees to help us run this. This would suit a mature high school student at around year 10 or 11. Consists of setting up for tours, running the shop, selling and pouring honey into jars. Minimum age of 16 as at times you'll be unsupervised.

Tour facilitator. Every Saturday at 11 am we run a one-hour tour. You don't need a huge amount of experience (if any) as a beekeeper, more a capacity to have fun and run a large group. I could train the right person in beekeeping. Someone who's done tourism or teaching with an upbeat personality would be great.

Japan bees! hamish.tame, our head beekeeper, is off on a little jaunt to Japan and has sent through some videos from a beachside area famous for its beaches. Hamish tells us it’s a mix between Noosa, Bondi and Bali! We’re not sure what these bees are but he’s been collecting various honeys on his travels and has promised a tasting video.

Social group visits. We love visits from social groups, Probus clubs, and aged care outings. This was a group of 40x who booked in for a tour🐝, honey 🍯 tasting, morning tea 🫖, and lunch🥪. Luckily the weather held off and the visit to the hives went smoothly. It was a great test to see if we could seat 40x indoors.. success! If you would like to organise a group visit, or have family in an aged care centre and think a visit to a honey farm would be of interest, drop us a line. We’re also open every weekend 10-4pm for a visit to the honey shop, or every Saturday at 11am for a pre booked tour.

Drones vs drones. So excited, we had a drone operator through to take some photos and video of our beautiful honey farm! The weather was magnificent! I’ll be posting the properly edited videos soon, but here’s a sneak peek. We’re open this weekend so you can check out our lovely site on the grounds of Retford Park - National Trust NSW. We have a tour scheduled at 11am Saturday, and 2pm Sunday. There’s also 2x spaces in the workshop where you open a hive at 10:30am Saturday.
