The Boronia Veterinary Clinic and Hospital has been caring for local pets for over 45 years. Through the support of our pet owners, we have grown to become one of the largest companion animal practices in Australia. We are very fortunate that with 17 caring vets and 23 dedicated nurses, we are able to provide a very diverse range of expertise . All of the vets still develop strong one on one relat

ionships with our patient's owners especially if they have ongoing medical problems. Our core philosophy is to provide the broadest range of choices for our clients, whilst always recognising that the "correct" test or procedure, does not have to be the most sophisticated one available.

🎄✨ Christmas Day ✨🎄
Today is the only day of the year our clinic is closed, giving our team time to be with their families.
We will be open on the rest of the public holidays for urgent appointments only.

We want to take a moment to say how deeply grateful we are for this community and for the trust you place in us. Your pets are more than just animals, they are family, companions, comfort on hard days, and joy in the everyday moments. Being part of their lives and caring for them through every stage is something we never take lightly.

We also hold space for those remembering a pet who is no longer with them this Christmas

Thank you for your kindness, patience, and support throughout the year.
We wish you and your beloved pets a safe and joyful Christmas filled with warmth, cuddles, and love. ❤️🐾🎄

Amazing efforts by all teams involved! Our patient Cookie was seen by us today after this horrific incident but absolute miracle. Today we performed X rays, and thankfully no obvious fractures. Cookie is still really sore on her leg which will take time and rest to recover! We wish her all the very best and hope she gets some much loved cuddles and rest after this 7 hour rescue. Thanks to the community for giving Cookie this extra chance and to her family for doing everything they could!

Happy New Years to our beloved clients and their fur babies. What an amazing community we are so blessed with helping day in and out.

We know your pets have been extremely spoilt this year. We have no doubt that some of their New Year’s resolutions include:
-becoming best friends with the mailman
- to stop nudging you when you’re trying to work
- to stop eating things I shouldn’t
-to stop destroying toys and removing the stuffing, as long as you get me lots of new toys.
-to stop waking you all up every morning for food

Things they won’t change:
- if it lands on the floor, forget about the five second rule… it’s mine
-to take pills without spitting them out as long as they are wrapped in cheese or peanut butter.
-to chew up your New Year’s resolutions list so you don’t feel bad when you break all your good intentions.

We hope this New Year brings you new beginnings, experiences and memories and wish you and your pets a healthy, happy and safe year.

Thank you all for the trust you place in our veterinary team throughout the year.

Here are some photos to kickstart the New Year of Mavis and her new babies she brought into this world! They are all healthy, adorable and living their best life!

🌹A difficult story with a happy ending🌹

Meet Hughston , a 6 year old French bulldog. This little man was given a second chance at life, being adopted by his new owner 4 months ago. With lots of love and care, he found his person. He loved his new human so much that when his owner would leave the house, he would become highly anxious. Sadly, we suspected that this led to Hughston having a nasty accident and causing a serious fracture to his front right leg, while his owner was out for a short period. Upon X-ray, the fracture was quite a severe one, with surgical fixation and recovery being another hurdle that we weren’t sure could be overcome.
Through lengthy discussions about what to do next and how to navigate forward we had to come up with the next step. The decision was made to amputate Hughston’s front leg as it seemed to be the best solution for him and his family.. but whether or not he would cope with three legs was something that we needed to consider.

This video shows him JUST two weeks post surgery and we can proudly say Hughston has adapted to his new life incredibly well. He has reached all the milestones of recovery and is so happy. We can’t wait to continue following your journey Hughston. You make us very proud !

What a pleasure it was seeing Mocha. The most gracious , loving and sweet girl.

She presented to us with a swollen abscess on her elbow after running through the bushes.
Given her very gentle nature, we were able to explore the abscess while in consult room with a pair of haemostats.

Swipe to the last picture to see what we found !! A large piece of bark and a grass seed , BOTH inside there.
We flushed the area and cleaned out as much as we could. Thankfully we found and removed these foreign objects to allow her wound to heal!
Fingers crossed we have got it all out.

We wish you a speedy recovery gorgeous❤️‍🩹
