Ive added some random pictures of dogs Ive groomed as a reminder of the difference between regular grooms and when grooms have been left to long.
Everyone is feeling the pinch financially and are time poor but leaving grooming too long can not only be extremely uncomfortable for your mate and make it really hard for your groomer it can end up costing you more as well.
Matting leads to more expensive grooming cost to fix, can make your dog harder to handle because of the difficultly in fixing those matts, can increase the risk of cutting/injuring your dog while trying to remove matting and can lead to skin issues and costly vet bills associate with those health issue associated with a matted dog.
The pictures below show some dogs that are matted, some after clips and some dogs clipped that weren't matted.
Putting $5 away a week will cover most your grooming cost if all you can manage is a full groom on your little dog every 12 weeks.
Also remember your groomer can not clip your dog and leave coat long if they are left until they are knotty especially if you haven't combed between grooms.
If you cant get a comb through the coat we cant get a winter blade through the coat.
A reminder to, if you put a coat or clothes on your mate you need brush more often the coat will rub the coat as it gets longer and will cause more knots as do some collars and harnesses.
Washing dogs with longer coats without brushing knots out first will cause the knots to get tighter and matting.
