Set on 3,000 acres and home to Wade Horses Bingara previously known as Jackaroo Jillaroo Downunder, "Garrawilla" is a working property nestled in beautiful hillside country beside the Gwydir River in Bingara—a historic gold and diamond mining town with a population of 1300 people. The town of Bingara, surrounded by cypress and ironbark covered mountains, is situated in the New England area of nort
hern New South Wales, Australia—150km north of the Country Music Capital Tamworth, on the Fossicker's Way; 604km north of Sydney. The region produces fine wool, beef cattle and mixed farming. Bird Watchers also love Bingara, as do our riverside campers from all over Australia. Around 100 head of sheep and cattle run on Garrawilla, and 100 horses (give or take a few) at any given time. Horse breeding is a significant part of our Trail Riding business with stock consisting mostly of Clydesdale cross-breeds—known for their exceptionally quiet nature and being easily started under saddle or in harness and educated. They have become extremely popular for eventing, competitive dressage and jumping, pony club mounts, trail-riding and carriage horses, and several horses bred here are members of the Mounted Police. Foals are born every Spring on Garrawilla, with these horses used in Wade Horses Bingara’s trail-riding activities and a few possibly offered for sale.
