No foals for us this season, we're full, and with the dry spell, a good move. However, looking ahead, hoping to cover some of our homebred girls with our own homebred boy. If you are looking for a riding mare, we have two available atm.

Our impressive Millennium x Lord Loxley x Lancer II son MARACANA.

Because our hip pocket has taken a beating this year with the cost of living being so high… we’ve thought we could spread the love (albeit quite literally!!!) with the first 20 services to Maracana and DeLorean discounted to $1800 plus gst (and collection and freight for those needing it).

The elegant Maracana is a powerhouse mover and a sensational type. He shares a sire with the outstanding Olympic mare Maxima Bella among others. In fact, according to Horsetelex, Millennium has no less than 94 approved sons and 20 offspring who have made it to Grand Prix (one of these being the incredible Mist of Titanium OLD. He could well make an Aussie team with his rider and owner Alanna Richards!).

If you’re keen to breed your mare to Maracana this season, please send an email to [email protected] or dm me!

Photo by Kate Sheffield and looking sensational because of his Hygain | Horse Feed diet!

Weaning time has began for the oldest filly, time for some more handling 😃

We often talk about riding from leg to hand, from back to front, and riding to the contact.

However, this does not mean cramming your horse between strong leg and strong rein aids.

Kicking your horse forward while keeping the handbrake on tight will only result in a tense, tight horse, who will most likely drop behind the vertical and hollow his back as he tries to get away from the uncomfortable pressure you’re creating.

Instead, ride your horse forward until you feel him connect to the end of the reins. There should be a light but steady and even weight in your hands, and you should feel as though your horse is rhythmically taking you forward without leaning on the bit or resisting.

Keep your hands and arms soft, elastic, and think of your hands as pushing your horse towards the bit, and not pulling back.
