We have been absolutely inundated with offers of support, and we are so incredibly grateful for the amazing response and willingness to help Tiny Tails Chihuahua Rescue Australia lnc
We’re now working through the volunteers who have already put their hands up, so we won’t be taking any further volunteer applications at this stage.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🐾
HELP US MAKE THE WEEKEND A SUCCESS! ❤️
Tiny Tails Chihuahua Rescue Australia Inc. will be at the Melbourne Dog Lovers Festival, and we need some wonderful volunteers to help us make the weekend a success!
📍 Melbourne Showgrounds
🐾 Rescue Adoption Section — Stall D-606
📅 Friday 16 – Sunday 18 October 2026 Set-up
🐾 WHEN DO WE NEED YOU?
🔨 FRIDAY 16 OCTOBER — SETUP
Volunteers needed to help us set up our stall.
⏰ Exhibitor access is approximately 6am–7pm.
We will confirm the actual setup time with volunteers.
❤️ SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER — FESTIVAL DAY
⏰ 9am–5pm
Full-day volunteers are preferred.
📦 SUNDAY 18 OCTOBER — FESTIVAL DAY + PACK-UP
⏰ 9am–5pm
📦 Pack-up from 5pm
If you volunteer on Sunday, we would really appreciate you staying to help us pack up the stall after the festival closes.
🐕 WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Volunteers may help with:
🐾 Greeting visitors, supporters and fellow dog lovers
🐾 Helping at our Tiny Tails Chihuahua Rescue stall
🐾 Looking after one of our rescue dogs during the day
🐾 Handling/carrying your allocated rescue dog when appropriate
🐾 Taking your allocated dog out for toileting when needed
🐾 Supervising your dog and making sure they get appropriate rest
🐾 Talking to visitors about our rescue dogs and Tiny Tails Chihuahua Rescue
🐾 Selling our 2027 Rescue Calendars and merchandise
🐾 Helping with general stall duties
We expect to have approximately 10 rescue dogs attending, so volunteers may be allocated a particular dog to care for throughout the day.
❤️ FULL-DAY VOLUNTEERS PREFERRED
To make organising our roster easier, we would prefer volunteers who can commit to the full day.
However, if you are unable to do a full day, please still contact us and let us know exactly what hours you are available.
We will do our best to accommodate you where possible.
👟 WHAT TO WEAR & BRING
Please come prepared for a busy day!
👟 Comfortable closed-toe footwear
👕 Comfortable clothing suitable for a full day
🥤 Your own drinks/water
🥪 Your own food and snacks
Food vans at the festival can be extremely busy, with long queues, so we recommend bringing what you need to keep yourself going throughout the day.
💛 Tiny Tails Chihuahua Rescue volunteer identification will be provided, so you'll be proudly representing our rescue while you're with us.
🚗 PARKING & TRANSPORT
Please be aware:
🚗 Volunteer parking is approximately $25
🚆 Public transport is another option
🚗 Car parks can fill quickly
🚶 Overflow parking may involve a reasonable walk
Parking arrangements and costs are controlled by the venue/event and are unfortunately outside our control.
