A few days ago we noticed our Shining Star had gone into labour. We kept a close eye on her throughout the day but as the day went on, we noticed something wasn't right - she was extremely uncomfortable, her meowing had changed and she had very limited discharge and she wasn't dilatating. We realised Star wasn't going to have her babies normally and she needed a caesarean. We rushed Star to the vet. The vet examined her and confirmed she needed a caesarean. Star was dilated internally but not externally. This is very dangerous for not only the babies but also for the Queen, as we can loose them all. The vet delivered 5 Tonkinese kittens, unfortunately 1 little kitten didn't make it. Star is home and recovering well with her babies. She is being extremely protective after her traumatic event but they are all doing well. We wanted to share this story, as it's not always easy breeding and unfortunately things like this does happen. Fortunately we have only had to do 2 caesareans in all the years of breeding. We always try our best to be home when the Queens are nearing their due date just incase they need a helping hand 😻🧡💚🥰
