Friendly Reminder

Today is the day we transition to our new computer software system! 💻

Our team is working hard behind the scenes to learn the new program and make this change as smooth as possible for everyone. During this transition, there may be slightly longer wait times than usual while we navigate the new system. We ask that you notify us of any emails or messages that don't look quite right, as we try to finalise our systems.

We kindly ask for your patience and understanding as we settle in. Thank you for your continued support 🐾

Important Notice to Our Clients

Whilst we have been a little quiet in social media posts, our team have been busy working behind the scenes to upgrade our computer software program.

Next Tuesday, our clinics will be transitioning to a new computer software system to help us 'get with the times' and to help improve your experience with us.

As with any new system, there may be a few delays while our team learns and adjusts to the change. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this transition period.

We will be temporarily disabling our online booking system whilst we learn how to navigate our new system, so please keep an eye out when this will be available again. If you notice anything strange about your appointment, or the information you receive from us, please let us know.

Our staff will continue to do their very best to assist you and your pets as efficiently as possible, and we truly appreciate your support while we navigate this exciting update.

Thank you for your patience and continued support!

🌟 Meet Our Latest Blood Donor Hero – Hilda! 🌟

Today we’d like to give a very special shoutout to our beautiful girl, Hilda, who recently joined our blood donor team ❤️

Hilda generously donated blood to help another patient in need — and her donation could truly mean the difference between life and death for a critically unwell pet. It’s hard to overstate just how important these incredible donor dogs are to our community.

Blood donations are safe, carefully monitored, and our donors are always treated like the VIPs they are (Very Important Pooches). Plenty of cuddles, praise, and treats are always included!

We are so proud of Hilda and so grateful to her wonderful owners for allowing her to help others. Because of dogs like Hilda, we’re able to provide lifesaving care right here when it’s needed most.

Thank you, Hilda — you’re a hero! 🩸💛

If you’d like to learn more about our blood donor program, head to our website and register your pet!

🐍💚 Ella the little fighter! 💚🐍

When Ella was suspected of being bitten by a snake the other week, her owners were straight on the phone to us.

Ella’s owners had already begun driving towards Berri when Dr Simone and Nurse Kady headed out to meet them. They met on the side of the road, where Ella was quickly assessed and given antivenom to give her the best possible chance.

She was then transported back to Berri so our team could closely monitor her for any reactions and continue her care.

The incredible part? Within just a couple of hours of receiving her antivenom, Ella was already recovering and keen to head home. 🐶

We’re so proud of this brave girl and so grateful for everyone involved in getting her the urgent care she needed.

A reminder to all pet owners — if you suspect a snake bite (sudden weakness, collapse, wobbliness, difficulty breathing), treat it as an emergency and seek veterinary care immediately. Time truly matters.

🐾 Wellness Blood Tests – A Simple Step Toward a Healthier Future for Your Pet 🩺

Did you know your pet can receive a Wellness Blood Test at any Veterinary visit? You can even book an appointment with a nurse at a dedicated time, so you don’t have to ‘take a number’ and wait in line!
As part of our standards of care, we truly value patient wellbeing. Preventative medicine is just as important as treatment for chronic diseases and illnesses.
💡 Why do we recommend a Wellness Blood Profile?
✔ Prevention is better than cure- We can establish your pet’s ‘normal’ values when they are young and healthy.
✔ It’s quick! Did you know it only takes 20 minutes to get results for a wellness blood test.
✔ Identifying silent health issues – Many conditions can develop quietly with no visible symptoms.
✔ Monitoring over time – Comparing results throughout your pet’s life can help track trends and identify early health concerns.
🔬 What does a Wellness Blood Test assess?
🩸 Red blood cell counts
🩸 White blood cell counts
🩸 Platelet production
🩺 Signs of inflammation or infection
🍬 Blood glucose levels
🫀 Internal organ function
A simple blood test can provide a powerful snapshot of your pet’s internal health.
If you’d like to learn more about adding a Wellness Blood Test to your pet’s next visit, speak with our team. Prevention today can make all the difference tomorrow. 🐶🐱

🐾 Pet Toxicity Awareness 🐾

We’ve recently experienced an increased number of pets presenting with toxin exposure, often from everyday household and garden products!

The most common substances we see pets ingest include:
• Rat bait
• Snail and slug bait
• Household and garden insecticide

Pets can be exposed not only by eating these products, but also by simply licking their paws if they have walked on a treated surface. Other exposures include skin contact and inhaling sprays.

It’s also worth noting that products labelled as “pet-friendly” or “pet-safe” are not always completely harmless. These products are usually less toxic but can still cause problems if used incorrectly or repeatedly.

Signs to note for toxin ingestion include:
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Drooling or frothing
• Lethargy or weakness
• Tremors or unsteadiness
• Changes in breathing or behaviour
• Unusual bruising or bleeding (particularly with rat bait exposure)

If you have any concerns about a product, or if your pet is showing any of these signs, please contact us. When it comes to toxin exposure, early guidance can make all the difference.

🍁 Meet Maple! 🍁
This sweet girl recently visited us for her second course of vaccinations and also received her heartworm injection. She was so excited about the cream cheese and pats that she didn’t even realise that she was getting her injections!

💉 Why are puppy vaccinations so important?
They build long term immunity to prevent them from potentially fatal diseases such as parvovirus, distemper and hepatitis.
They protect your dog as well as other dogs in the community from these diseases.
It enables your puppy to safely enrol in puppy classes, encouraging socialisation and increasing wellbeing.

🐾 If you have recently welcomed a new best friend into your life, call us to give them the best start to their healthcare journey 🐾
