The SM TAFE Vet Clinic is open to the general public to allow our training Vet Nurses real-world experience while being supervised by qualified Veterinarians & Vet Nurses. Veterinary nursing students at South Metropolitan TAFE's Bentley campus serve general public in this clinic providing basic veterinarian services (vaccinations, check-ups, medications, teeth cleaning, sterilisation) under the supervision of qualified Veterinarians.

BACK FOR 2026!

The student vet clinic has reopened for Term 1, and we look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Our appointments are usually booked up 1-2 weeks in advance, so please book early for routine consultations. We recommmend attending your regular vet for any appointments that are more time sensitive.

We are back open for Term 3, with Dr Teresa and Dr Carly available for appointments on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Please be aware that surgery spaces have booked up very quickly for this term, and the next available days will be in October when we return for Term 4. There are still a handful of clinic appointments available in late August.

If your pet requires more immediate attention, please attend your local full-service vet clinic.

CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Our students and staff are having a well-earned break, and clinic & surgery appointments will recommence on Monday the 28th of July.

Please be sure to seek assistance from your regular vet over the break if required, as we will not have any staff on site to assist with enquiries or appointments.

Thank you to everyone who came to visit us in Term 2, we look forward to seeing everyone again when we re-open in Term 3!

The clinic is now fully booked for the rest of 2024, for both surgery and clinic appointments. Thank you to everyone who has visited us this year and given our students valuable real-world experience.

We will be reopening in February 2025 when we return for Term 1. Appointments can be made from mid-January for when we return.

In the meantime please ensure you have a local clinic that you can visit over the break if needed. We are happy to send a copy of your pet's history to your preferred clinic. Requests for medication for over the break must be made before Friday the 29nd of November to ensure it can be supplied before we close up for the year.

TERM 4 CLINIC HOURS

The Christmas break is quickly approaching, so please be sure to take note of our closing dates if you were planning to visit in Term 4. Plan well in advance if you are likely to need repeat medications over the holidays as we will not be able to accommodate requests after the 29th of November.

Please be aware that we do book up for clinic and surgery appointments quite quickly, so be sure to have a local vet clinic in mind as a backup plan if we are not able to get you in within your desired timeframe.

Average wait time for a clinic appointment is 1-2 weeks, and surgery appointments 3-4 weeks. For any urgent appointments we recommend attending your local full-service vet clinic. We do not see emergencies at the South Metro TAFE Vet Clinic.

Thank you to everyone who visited the clinic during Term 3!

Our staff and students are taking a short break for the school holidays and will be returning in the week starting the 30th of September.

We are already booking up fast for Term 4 so please be sure to make appointments in advance if you are able to. The clinic will only be running until mid-November and we will be unable to accommodate appointments after this time.

The clinic is now closed for Term 2 while our students and staff take a well earned rest over the school holidays.

We will reopen on the 22nd of July, but please be aware that we are currently booked up well into August for appointments and surgeries.
