Endota may be closed down but we still have Baby 🥰

After almost five years in rabbits, Endota Rabbit Stud will be closing down.

I was fourteen when we brought our first rabbit home. At that stage, I never imagined rabbits would have such an impact on my life and my future.
I have been lucky enough to meet some amazing people in the rabbit world, as well as play with and experience many wonderful breeds.
These beautiful animals led me to bust out of my comfort zone and do things I would have never imagined. They helped me beat a large depression in my life, and led me to find my passion - animals.
I have now completed my Certificate II in Animal Studies, as well as my Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services.

Unfortunately, after four bouts of Calicivirus, I no longer have the mental capacity to continue with this hobby. These rabbits deserve so much in the world, and I cannot keep breeding them, knowing they will just die.

Rabbits will always be a massive part of my identity, and I will cherish the memories I have forever.

At this stage, we have four remaining adult rabbits in our stud, some who may stay forever, and some who will be needing homes after our lockdown ends.
I also have a litter of purebred flemish kits on the ground which will be seeking homes in future.

Thank you so much to everyone who has followed us along on this journey, from breeding mini lops to breeding flemish giants! It has been a wild ride.

Here we go again..

Our lockdown restarts, with suspected calici.
My heart breaks again, it has barely pulled itself together since last time.

This is not our fault, I will not tolerate any hate or ridiculous comments such as saying this makes me a bad owner etc.

I'm too broken to even think of words.
Rest in peace Spud, Tinseltown Cedric, & a sweet black doe who I was retaining.

I've written this post up three times, my Facebook, just like me, does not want to accept reality.

Today we mourn one of the most precious girls.. our first flemish, our best flemish & one of the strongest rabbits I have known..

My girl BB,
To anyone who knew me, they also knew her.. the icon of my stud, my favourite rabbit.
I'm literally shaking as I write this,
I love you more than I could ever say or show, & I am so glad I could be with you in your last moments.
No comment could give justice to you.

The government has now taken yet another rare rabbit from us, soon we will have nothing left.

As you laid your head on my chest, your eyes weak, breathing heavily, I remembered the government saying this was a "humane", "pain free" death.
As you thrashed around, squealing and crying, I remembered that the government think this is okay.
Our government advocate animal cruelty..

Endota Rabbit Stud focus on breeding Flemish Giants in the Bendigo, Victoria region of Australia. Breeding for pet, show home and stud.

I am so grateful to have these babies, after losing their mum (my favourite doe) not long after birth, another doe took these three on and has raised them beautifully.
Thank you so much also to Lindy for taking the rest of the litter & hand raising them.
