It’s just me - your resident dog trainer.

I’m the girl who’ll happily talk dogs for hours, help you solve your pups quirks and celebrate every little training win with way too much enthusiasm.

When I’m not working with dogs, you’ll find me at dogs sports or planning my next adventure -preferably at the beach somewhere with a soggy, sandy Taco.

Yes, I can teach your dog to do some pretty cool stuff…but I’m also here to make training fun, help you feel confident as a dog parent, and cheer you on like you’re my best friend. 🩷

The teenage stage SUCKS! ⁠

And you are not alone.⁠
⁠
It’s weird how we go through the puppy blues and puppy challenges and believe that once we get through that stage we’ll have this perfectly trained dog, who will fit perfectly into our lives. ⁠
⁠
And what really happens is we put in all this work with them while they are a puppy, only for them to hit teenage age and they behave like we’ve never done a days work training them. ⁠
⁠
They start to ignore you, don’t return when you call them, jump and pull on lead, sometimes we start seeing the start of reactive behaviour and they are just chaotic. ⁠
⁠
But I want you to know that you haven’t failed. ⁠
This stage is completely normal. ⁠
And we all go through it. ⁠
Your dog isn’t a “bad” dog. ⁠
They are a normal teenage dog, presenting normal teenage behaviour. ⁠
⁠
But it doesn’t have to be quite that hard. Understanding your teen dogs behaviour, what training to do to suit their current developing brain, how to set up day to day management to successfully get through this time, will all help you to enjoy this stage. ⁠

Who gets to keep the dog? 🐶 Changes to the Family Law Act, which take effect next week, will mean pets will be considered part of the family in divorce matters.

Before making their decision, judges overseeing separation or divorce proceedings will need to look at things like who has the stronger bond with the pet, who can look after it in the future and any animal abuse history.

Currently, when a relationship breaks down, pets are treated as property and divvied up accordingly, like pots and pans or furniture.
