It's funny story time!

This is Gary. He's very handsome, isn't he?

Gary isn't staying with us at the moment but he was about a year ago.

Fast forward to this week, and 'Gary', the Senior Local Laws Officer, turned up for the annual council check for our Domestic Animal Boarding licence.

He has a checklist which he goes through to confirm that we are operating according to the Code of Practice for the Operation of Boarding Establishments.

Anyway, 'Gary' is checking our record keeping and asked me to go back one year in our booking system and pick a random cat so he could check that we had recorded their condition on check-in and had a current vaccination certificate documented.

Wouldn't you know it, of course, I randomly clicked on this cat called Gary. Gary's details came up, which included his picture.

I then stupidly blurted out "oh look at him, look how handsome Gary is".

The room went quiet. I instantly felt awkward.

I'm not sure what council inspector 'Gary' thought at that moment, and I truly hope he knows that I was talking about the cat, which I was, because, you know, he is very handsome. I hope he didn't think that I was being extra nice to make sure that we got our licence.

Anyway, I think we got our licence, I hope 'Gary' isn't too scared to come back next year, and yes, Gary the cat is handsome.

Hi, I'm Kozzi.

I have been coming to Purrs for many years. It is my absolute chosen destination whenever I go on holiday.
The last two times have been extra fun, though. Let me tell you about them!
My Mum had arranged the chauffeur service. That is where the nice Purrs lady (Aunty Jacinta) comes to pick you up from your home.
The first time she came, I had already cottoned on to something fishy happening and hid under the bed.
Poor Mum, she was distraught.
When Aunty Jacinta came, Mum had to ask her to come into the bedroom and help get me out. I nearly came out straight away to start, as I was excited to see her. And then I realised that this was all a trap to put me in that nasty cat carrier.
I backed up and burrowed down. Mum's bed is one of those heavy ensembles with only about 5 inches to spare. There was no way anyone could reach me! I was quite impressed with myself.
Poor Aunty Jacinta. She had to roll around on the bedroom floor for a good 20 minutes before she managed to herd me out with a broomstick.
I must say I was quite humiliated when that happened.

The second time, Mum was too quick, and she managed to get me into the carrier before Aunty Jacinta came. But it wasn't closed properly, and I escaped straight back under the bed.
Aunty Jacinta arrived, and this time I wasn't being herded with a broomstick.
I hung onto that carpet for dear life, and tunnelled myself right in underneath. No amount of treats or kind words were going to work to get me out.
Mum was so embarrassed.
Aunty Jacinta twisted and turned and stretched and contorted.
She finally managed to manoeuvre me out and place me lovingly into the carrier. I did hear her muttering something about needing physio afterwards.

Lucky they both love me dearly. I mean, how couldn't they? Look how adorable I am!
Needless to say, I had a lovely holiday once I did get to Purrs, and I highly recommend the chauffeur service, if only for the entertainment value that it provides. 😹

Handsome "Battlecat" had some matting that I wanted to trim.
I must say, I entered the room with my scissors and trimmers with some trepidation, ready to abandon ship if he lived up to his name.
Alas, Battlecat was an absolute gentleman and gladly let me trim the matts off.
At least my tetanus shot is up to date just in case I come off second best!
Sunday is spa day at Purrs!
