MYTH BUSTING - Fleas and ticks are still active in the winter months!
As the weather cools down, pet owners sometimes become complacent with flea and tick prevention for their furry friends! Paralysis ticks can cause serious harm or even death to dogs and cats, including those that stay indoors. Indoor pets can still pick up ticks from you and other pets.
Here at Southern Cross Veterinarians, we see paralysis ticks year round. Please keep up with preventatives during the cooler months and act fast if you suspect tick paralysis.
Prevention is Better than Treatment.
✅Inspect Your Pet Daily: Check all over your pet, including ears, mouth, head, neck, and under their legs, for ticks.
✅Use Preventatives: Ensure your pet is up to date on a vet-recommended tick prevention.
✅Act Quickly: If you find a tick, remove it and contact your vet right away.
