It is with a profound and heavy heart that we write of the passing of Isla, the beloved matriarch of CALS Vizslas, our dearest friend, and faithful confidant.
No words could ever fully capture the unconditional joy, the spirited laughter, and even the shared anguish that she brought into our lives and to her four generational family.
Her innate joie de vivre, her infectious love for all humans, her endless enthusiasm for food, and her fierce, undying loyalty to her family are qualities that will be impossible to find again.
While Isla may not have been destined for the record books with her show ring prowess, what she didn't win in competition, she magnificently achieved in life. She was a true warrior and a survivor, a trooper who, through her unwavering devotion, survived three separate snake attacks while protecting both her puppies and family. She gave every ounce of herself to us.
Isla, may you now be free, chasing those rabbits and running without bounds. There will forever be a permanent, irreplaceable hole in our hearts.
