With any luck we’ll hopefully have a crack at breeding the chondros this season, now with 4 mature adults. This is one of our males, produced by AB Reptiles

How’s this absolute cracker of a Barkly ackie produced by Northern Varanids.

We grabbed this boy and a similar female to add to our existing group of Barkly ackies a few months ago. This male is an awesome example of the big blotched red animals coming out of this line.

How good are Ring-tailed Geckos!
A huge thanks to Luke from Aussie Gecko Connections for letting us take on his breeding pair and 4 hatchlings recently. That brings our total number to 10 of these guys now.

Fingers crossed we can successfully produce a few more over the coming seasons. We managed to produce one last season and we currently have one egg incubating 🤞🏻

It’s been great seeing our carpets utilising their new enclosures now we’re well and truly into the warmer months. No carpet eggs this season, but if our ‘females’ decide to stop turning into males, we may have some at size for next season😂

A few recent snaps of some of the ackies. We’ve been lucky enough to have one of our females recently lay her third clutch. Hopefully that’ll be it for her this season!

We should have plenty of monitors start hatching from later this month. We’ve been lucky enough this season to have a number of species breed, with a couple more just starting to kick into gear. It’s certainly going to be a busy new year.

Though we don’t have many snakes producing this season, this is one we’ve been patiently waiting for.

We were lucky enough to get a perfect little clutch of 9 eggs from our pygmy banded Stimson’s. Our female was 210g heavily gravid, so typical weight sub 200g. Male sits around 70-80g, both fully grown.
For those that aren’t familiar with snake weights, these things are tiny!

Couldn’t help but get a video of the female with her proportionally huge clutch.

The ocreatus have kicked into gear for season number two!
Beyond stoked to see these critters start breeding again since the move back at the start of winter.

The female laid 5 clutches from our record last year! (4x 4 eggs 1x 1 egg)
Though we’re happy with just the one

*Pictured is the male in shed - didn’t want to harass the female too much
