You may have seen recent media coverage about Beransa (for dogs) and Solensia (for cats), two injectable medications used to manage osteoarthritis in pets.
At Beerwah Vets, we have seen these treatments make a real difference to the quality of life of many of our patients by reducing pain, improving mobility, and restoring joy to daily activities that were previously limited by discomfort.
That said, not every patient is suitable for every medication. We take a considered and case-by-case approach, with thorough assessment and monitoring before and after starting any new treatment.
Australia’s regulatory body, the APVMA, has some of the most structured and rigorous assessment processes in the world. These medications were approved following detailed review of their safety and effectiveness in veterinary settings. We trust this process, and we stay up-to-date with any changes to product labels or safety alerts that may arise.
