I often get asked why do I coach, what exactly do you get out of it. Well I can honestly say that helping create partnerships, watching my students grow, learn new things, progress in their riding and watch their confidence soar is the reason I do what I do.

This is Natalie and Polly, when I started coaching them Nat was leadline and Polly had never cantered.

Together they’ve gone from leadline to first ridden (the trickiest stage of all) and are now a solid second ridden combination, competing at 45cm and prelim dressage

Hearing her giggles and watching her throw her arms around her pony in absolute joy when they achieve their goals is what coaching is all about.

Natalie is my youngest student, she is also the cheekiest 😂 and is perfectly matched to her sassy golden girl. I am so proud of all she has achieved and proud to be her coach.

Had a lovely liberty session with Kole today, he was helping Savvy Minogue brush up on her liberty cues. Here he thought she wanted him to mark the mounting block so of course we had a giggle and took the opportunity for a couple of photos!

Now I am starting to feel better it’s time to ramp up Kole’s training. We trialled a Pivo lesson with Reset Equine - Sustainable Equitation & Mobility yesterday to see how the new advanced horse settings work! Fantastic is all I can say! This is a screen recording, however now Pivo have now added a record function to lessons I just didn’t press ‘cloud recording’ at the beginning of the lesson.

Today’s lesson with Reset Equine - Sustainable Equitation & Mobility was amazing. Kole stepped everything up a notch and my favourite part of the lesson was when we picked up a nice canter and he felt he had to canter towards Nancy, at one stage it looked like we were gonna leave the arena to sit in her lap, the same thought obviously went on through her mine also as she said and i quote, “Im super glad you managed to make that turn happen I was nearly about to run” 😂😂

The improvements since last time she saw him are amazing! So pleased with how he is progressing!

Kole is coming along nicely, here he is in his very first matchy set! Eskadron teal bonnet and pad, I do have the 1/4 sheet for winter also and bandages but as it was his first ever time in a bonnet I figured one new thing at a time 😂 he is developing nicely. :)

So happy with the youngest member of the team! Took Kole to adult riders yesterday to be a spectator and see how he handled finding out there was more than two horses in the world. Well he was a champ! Walked around without a care despite horses cantering over jumps right by him, ate grass then tacked up like a champ and had a little ride to see how he handled the atmosphere. Safe to say he was slightly tense but still soft and reactive to all of the aids! Smashed some goals today!

Christmas break news!

Just to let everyone know that we here at SL Equestrian are taking a well deserved break over the Christmas and new year period.

Last lessons will be on Tuesday the 17th December 2024 and all regular lessons will recommence Monday the 6th January 2025 with all my regulars continuing on their current allocated time slots. There may be some juggling around for some lesson times next year but if you are affected I will touch base with you in the new year to set a new time slot

To all my wonderful clients, thank you for making this year so successful! Helping you all achieve your goals for this year has been amazing and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together next year!

I do have a few time slots available for new clients so please feel free to send me a PM and we can get you into the calendar for the new year!

Little snip from a lesson this morning we have been working on changes today we used a small cavaletti and by the end of it moo was changing before the jump! Thank you for being today’s pilot! You rode amazingly today, and moo is really enjoying your lessons.

First time I have seen my horses grazing UNDER the sprinklers! Usually they run away from them and stay up the other end of the paddock! They must be a little warm today with the sudden change in temperature 😂
