Anyone who knows me, knows that my happy place is training horses. My favourite training still to this day is transforming young horses into capable, well developed and confident partners.

This 4yo lad is with me long term, so I can’t wait to see how he develops as we progress.

So good to be back riding the very special Doris this week! 💖

5 weeks out of the saddle felt much longer than it actually was... (yay for the hysterectomy tho!) Every time I see her I feel more and more lucky to have her in my team - I’m so incredibly grateful to Bruce and Debbie Williams at Hollingrove Stud who bred and own her 🙏

To add to my joy, her Utzon bridle arrived 🥳 Big thanks to Loren at the Horse Bit Emporium. It’s a beautiful looking bridle (of course 😉), but what I love the most is how comfortable she is in it! I’m in a position to ride in lots of different bridles & I really, really love this one. There are some great bridles out there with padded headpieces to alleviate poll pressure but the pad on some of those bridles is quite massive and while I like them & many horses go very nicely in them, some sensitive horses don’t like the feeling behind their ears… (aka Doris 😉 the ginger ninja) The Utzon has the lovely soft padded relief on the poll but at a more acceptable ear - height ratio. I’ll put up a story soon to show anyone interested, on how the bridle sits with no pressure from the buckles on the sides of her face plus still having happy ears.
