We love everything about Funkya at Unkya Market 🐾

Ho, ho, ho - it's nearly Christmas, which means it's time for the final Funkya@Unkya market for 2025! Head on down to Unkya Reserve on Sunday 7 December from 8am to 1pm to join in the fun!

Our stallholders and volunteers will have their jingle on and look forward to greeting you with fabulous Make It, Bake It, Sew It, Grow It, Recycle It goodies perfect to put under the Christmas tree - or just to buy because you like it!

There will be Christmas goodies galore in our canteen, along with damn fine Holy Goat coffee, along with food trucks to complete fill your bellies.

The amazing Thoughts and Prayers will be onstage playing your favourite tunes, ready for you to hum - or even dance! - along to.

Well-behaved dogs ON LEADS are welcome - no exceptions to the lead requirement and PLEASE watch your dogs to make sure you pick up after them!

The kids can have fun in our adventure playground and there will be plenty of tables and chairs to help you catch up with friends - old and new.

This tiny tabby boy was found yesterday in an industrial area, trapped inside a container of strong adhesive. He was completely stuck, the glue had covered every inch of his fragile little body. By the time he arrived, he was exhausted, frightened, and in a truly heartbreaking state.

We gently worked to free him, carefully clipping away most of his fur just to remove the hardened glue matts and give him a soothing bath. His tiny body is covered in sores where the glue pulled at his skin. Despite everything, he never once hissed or fought, just looked up at us with tired, trusting eyes.

He’s now resting safely in our humidicrib, warm and comfortable for what might be the first time in his short life. He’s started eating on his own, which gives us hope, though he’s still battling respiratory symptoms on top of everything else.

This is the heartbreaking reality of what can happen when cats are not desexed and allowed to free roam. One small, preventable act of responsibility could have spared him all this suffering.

Please keep this brave little soul in your thoughts as we do everything we can to help him heal 💔😿🐾
