🐕💕 Sit to Say Please 💕🐕

At home and when out with our Oodle Adventure crew, one of our favourite manners we practice is “sit to say please!” ✨🐾

⭐️Before getting treats, hopping out of the car, clipping leads on, opening gates, or throwing toys — we ask the dogs to calmly sit first. It’s such a simple skill, but it teaches SO much more than just obedience.

🐶 Sitting politely helps dogs learn:
• Patience
• Impulse control
• Calm behaviour
• Focus around distractions
• Good manners with people & other dogs

Dogs quickly learn that jumping, barking, or rushing doesn’t get them what they want — calm behaviour does. 🙌

The best part? Once it becomes expected and consistent, the dogs start offering the behaviour automatically to “ask nicely” for things in everyday life. 💜

Consistency is key:
✨ Sit = good things happen
✨ Calm dogs get rewarded
✨ Manners become habit

This handsome little fellow is a white Mini Lop boy looking for his forever family. He was found wandering around Ballina and, despite efforts to locate his owner, nobody has come forward to claim him.

✨Rabbits make wonderful companions, but they do require proper care and commitment. Rabbits need plenty of time out of their enclosure every day to run, binky, explore, and express their natural behaviours. They also require unlimited access to quality oaten hay to keep their digestive system healthy and their teeth worn down. Rabbits are also easily litter trained, and we have already started litter training this little guy.

Doing what you love really does make all the difference 💜🐩🌳🌊

There’s something so special about spending part of my week loving and caring for ailing pets in the vet clinic as a vet tech & vet nurse , and also another day surrounded by happy oodles, fresh air, beach zoomies, wagging tails, all while watching each pup build confidence and friendships 🐾💕

When you truly love what you do, it never feels like “just work.” Feeling very grateful for all the amazing animals and their lovely families who trust me with their precious furbabies 💕✨🐾😘
