This weekend two of our young dogs, Maple ( Novafox Unicorn Heart) and Floky ( Novafusion Yellowstone Fox) gained their first tracking title ( Tracking Dog) by passing test 3 at Ballaarat Dog Obedience Club (Pending DV approval) Big thank you, to their handler on the day Tamika Staszek, our judge Lynn Klecka and all organises and helpers over the weekend.

What a weekend!

It has been a while since we went out and tried our hand at RATG (retrieving ability test gundog) as we wanted to work on Ivy’s depth and hold.
Her first time in such terrain, gullies and large tufts of dry grass where I couldn’t even see her (just the tip of her tail telling me she’s happily smashing through 😂).

Day one, no love for us, she did a beautiful obedience and fist retrieve but didnt follow her mark quite right for her second.

Day two, seems she learned a thing or two (quick learner!), she once again did a beautiful obedience, no fear first retrieve and lovely out and back water retrieve for her second. To say I’m proud is an understatement! She even managed to nab a 2nd place (and a water pass - woohoo!). Some tough competition out there.

Thank you to the wonderful property owners Rick & Chris and Trevor as judge, plus the Weimaraner Club for hosting.

We’ll be back for more!

Yesterday we tried our hand for the first time at Advanced tricks. Dogs must perform 10 tricks, at an advanced level, with no treats at all! This is a massive step up from Intermediate.

Ivy didn’t disappoint, with a lovely score in her first trial (4th place) and 3rd in her second. Unfortunately it was all too much by the time we got to her last trial it was 4pm and the girl had had enough 😆

Super proud of my girl, under 2 years old and impressing everyone with her work.
