aim to see them only once a year for their annual health check and take pleasure in giving them a clean bill of health. To this end, we only stock our practice with the safest and most effective healthcare products, and the highest quality diets. Family members do fall ill though, and they suffer injuries which can be life-threatening. In situations like these, we treat each patient with the same high level of compassion, understanding, empathy and professionalism to quickly relieve pain and suffering, diagnose, and treat, while maintaining good communication with you throughout the process. We are constantly updating our equipment, techniques and building on our combined 70 years of experience in companion animal medicine and surgery. 🌈🐾 Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🐾🌈

Today, Friday the 28th August, is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day — a day to remember the beautiful animals who may no longer be by our side, but will always hold a special place in our hearts. ❤️

For many of us, our pets are so much more than pets. They are family, companions and a huge part of our lives.

🐾🩺✨ Learning, connecting and bringing new ideas home! ✨🩺🐾

Last week, Dr Anna Cosgriff, Dr Nikki Bayer and Dr Alana Jardine headed to the Sunshine Coast ☀️🌴 for the 51st ASAV Annual Conference! 🐶🐱

This year’s theme was The Joys of General Practice 💙, with four days packed with practical, case-focused learning across areas including anaesthesia, pain management, chronic illness and more. 📚🧠

Conferences like this are a fantastic opportunity for our vets to continue building their knowledge, connect with others in the veterinary profession 🤝 and bring fresh ideas and practical tips back to our clinics and patients. 🐾💡

We love seeing our team continue to learn and grow! 💙🩺✨

Double the cuteness, double the reason to stay healthy. 💛🤎

These gorgeous girls, Athena (left) and Nix (right), recently visited Dr Aaron at our Wendouree Clinic for their spey surgeries, and we couldn't resist sharing how adorable they were all tucked up together afterwards. 🥹

Did you know that speying female ferrets isn't just about preventing unwanted litters? Unlike many other animals, unspayed female ferrets (called jills) can remain in season if they don't mate. This causes continuous oestrogen production, which can lead to a serious and potentially fatal condition called aplastic anaemia, where the bone marrow stops producing blood cells.

Speying helps to:
• Prevent this life-threatening condition
• Avoid unwanted litters
• Reduce hormonal behaviours and body odour
• Keep your ferret happy and healthy

If you've welcomed a ferret into your family and have questions about the best time to desex them, our team is always happy to help. 💙

Chester thought if he couldn't see us... we couldn't see him! 🌿👀

Fresh in for his castration, this clever little guy decided the best plan was to disappear into the bushes and hope everyone forgot why he was here.
Nice try, Chester... but we found you! 😂💙

Thankfully, his hiding spot didn't save him, and he was a very brave boy throughout his procedure. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Chester! 🐾💚
