We are proud to announce that Madam Kafoops gave birth to a lovely Barood filly at 11:30pm Monday night called Lillykins. She is everything we could have dreamed of and more.

The name Lillykins is quite significant as Madam herself was named after Mum, Ness (a nickname Great Gramps, Bruce called her) and Lillykins is named after the next generation in Lilly (again a nickname Pop, Grant gave her at a young age) and if she is anything like her namesake she'll be a fiery force to be reckoned with her competitive streak and fighting spirit.

On Wednesday we head down the hill to HQ at Morphettville Racecourse with Dexter Dream for mid week racing.

Dexter continues to improve with each race ride and with the small field we should see him get a great sit during the running and will hopefully see him thereabouts at the pointy end of the race.

Might have been the omen bet of the day, with the chilly wet conditions today at Gawler and Barossa Jockey Club. We also had a bit of hail last night at the farm just to give us a sign that Jimmy was going to be in with a chance today.

If you want to see a race that shows how far Brooke King - Jockey has come as a jockey this is the race!!! Winning the prior race from the front with Gold Spirit, she assessed the race and decided to back herself in to get cover and come out wide to get the chocolates!!!! What a way to for Brooke to raise the bat for her first 50 wins!!!

Two from two for the day and I think a stout followed up by a port is warranted tonight to warm up the toes and fingers after a great day of racing.

It was all smiles last night as the rain came down and it was all smiles after the race. (But it might not have been all smiles being three wide during the running of the race😂 )

But Brooke King - Jockey rode him like the best thing in the race, even having to do all the work to get the lead, including being three wide mid way through the race.

They levelled up at the start of the straight and he would be forgiven to be vulnerable 200ms to go but he showed his ability today and big heart to win by over 2 lengths on the line to win the Gawler and Barossa Jockey Club Life Members 2025 Cup

Tomorrow we head to Gawler and Barossa Jockey Club for races with two horses that have been found well in the market.

The Ice Cutter returning having a first run for the prep will benefit from any rain that comes our way between now and race time. Over the coming month we will see him step up to his ideal distance in the staying races.

Gold Spirit has trained on well and finds a highly competitive Wednesday race as he steps up to 1100m for the first time this prep. He will be in a handy position and hopefully fight on like the bulldog we know he his

Some times they win pretty and some times you have to fight like a bulldog with a little bit of luck.

Some days you win on talent and some days it can be your diva attitude and a small little gap that is all the difference. Today it was the latter.

Being forced to sit in the gates for an extended period of time while the rest loaded and with a late scratching wasn’t ideal. He slightly missed the jump, found a good position in running and when a little gap for a little horse opened up at the shadow of the post. He knuckled down and got his nose down on the line.

Perfect ride from Brooke King - Jockey , where patience was the order of the day after the jump. She just waited and waited and when she finally said go, they squeezed through the little gap and got the head down where it matters the most

Tomorrow sees Simba step out for his second run this prep, in one of the last 3 year old races for the season. Stepping up to 1000ms with Caitlin Tootell in the saddle. Caitlin knows him well, riding him for 4th at Murray Bridge at the start of the year.

Great first up run for the little pocket rocket. He had to sit out wide due to the barrier for most of the run. But when they straightened he chased well and found the line really well to go down by a long neck.

He will take great improvement from the run. Now Simba is doing what we all should be, enjoying the view out in the Winter’s Sun and waiting for feed up. You’ve earned your tucker tonight little man.
