POV: you’re a vet nurse, so your camera roll looks a little different 🐾🤍

It’s filled with blurry tail wags, sleepy post-surgery cuddles, tiny puppy vaccinations, kittens wrapped in blankets, happy discharge photos, and the sweet faces we get to care for every single day.

Some days in this job are incredibly hard. We see the scary moments, the emergencies, the heartbreak, and the goodbye’s that stay with us long after we leave work. But we also get to experience some of the most beautiful parts of an animal’s life.

We get to watch nervous new puppy parents fall completely in love. We celebrate first vaccines, recovery milestones, and senior pets still acting like puppies at heart. We get to earn the trust of anxious rescue pets, hand out way too many treats, and sneak cuddles in between appointments.

One of the greatest privileges of being a vet nurse is growing alongside your pets. From their very first visit as tiny puppies or kittens, through all the messy, funny, chaotic years in between, and into their gentle senior years, we remember them all.

Your pets become part of our lives too. We know their favorite treats, their nervous habits, their dramatic personalities, and the way they look at you when they feel safest. They leave paw prints on our hearts in ways we could never fully explain.

So yes… our camera rolls are overflowing with photos and videos of your pets.

Because even on the hardest days, these moments remind us exactly why we do what we do ✨

As our pets enter their senior years, changes can be subtle.

Maybe they're sleeping more, slowing down on walks, or not moving quite as easily as they used to.

The challenge is knowing what's normal ageing and what's worth investigating.

That's why our Winter Senior Pet Health Promotion is designed to help cats and dogs aged 7+ stay comfortable, active and healthy through their golden years.

For just $350, your pet will receive a comprehensive senior health assessment including blood testing, urine testing, parasite screening and other important health checks.

Many age-related conditions develop gradually and can be difficult to spot at home. A proactive health assessment can help identify concerns early and give you confidence you're doing everything you can for your pet.

💙 Available 8 June - 8 August
💙 Save $425
💙 Cats & dogs aged 7+ years

Because peace of mind matters when they're family.

Meet Sidney 💕

Sidney visited us a few Saturday's ago for a Hydrobath. When we first saw her, we thought she was a little cattle dog…

…but then she waddled in with her adorably long body, tiny legs and floppy ears, and suddenly we weren’t so sure!

She’s got the beautiful cattle dog colouring, but there’s definitely something else mixed into this sweet girl.

Regardless, she completely stole everyone’s hearts while she was here 🛁💕

What do you think her mix could be? We think she is perfect just the way she is!

Drop your guesses below! ⬇️🐶

🦴 Fun Fact Friday 🦴
Puppies are born without teeth, just like human babies! 👶🐶

Little Bonnie recently visited us for her new puppy check, and while she’s currently sweet and snuggly, those tiny baby teeth have already made an appearance.

By the time most puppies head off to their new homes, they’ve usually got their full set of baby teeth and are ready to use them to explore the world, often by chewing absolutely everything in sight.

Just like children, puppies lose their baby teeth as they grow. Their adult teeth start coming through from around 4 months of age, and most pups have their full set of grown-up teeth by about 6 months old.

So if your puppy suddenly seems extra bitey or obsessed with chewing, teething is probably to blame! Safe chew toys (and a little patience) go a long way during this stage. 💕🐾

Bonnie was an absolute superstar for her visit and we can't wait to see her again soon for her puppy vaccinations!

We recently had the pleasure of seeing gorgeous Ace the Groodle for a full health check, we can all agree, he’s one very handsome boy! 🐾💙

He was an absolute star during his visit and received a thorough nose-to-tail check to make sure he’s staying happy and healthy.

We absolutely loved spending time with you, Ace, and we can’t wait to see you again for more cuddles and treats! 🦴✨

🦉 A very special visitor came into our care recently, this beautiful Tawny Frogmouth was found soaking wet in a carpark after the recent rain.

Despite being very thin, they were alert and still able to fly short distances, with no obvious fractures, wounds, or signs of disease on examination. After receiving fluids, pain relief, and x-rays, they were transferred into the care of the RSPCA for ongoing rehabilitation.

Tawny Frogmouths are such fascinating native birds, and despite often being mistaken for owls, they’re actually more closely related to nightjars! Their incredible camouflage allows them to blend in almost perfectly with tree branches during the day. Unlike owls, they use their wide beaks to catch insects and small prey rather than relying on sharp talons.

We’re so lucky to share our environment with these amazing creatures 💚 Heavy rain and wild weather can leave wildlife exhausted and vulnerable, so keeping an eye out and giving a helping hand when needed can make all the difference. 🦉

“TREATS.”

🐾 Is your dog on this list?

Some dog breeds are known to have a higher risk of developing cancer during their lifetime, including Golden Retrievers, French Bulldogs, Boxers, Beagles, Schnauzers, Bernese Mountain Dogs and more.

That doesn’t mean something will happen, but it does mean regular health checks and early investigation of any new lumps or changes can make a real difference. ❤️

If your dog is in a higher-risk breed group, or over 7 years of age, it’s a great time to book a check-up and chat with our team about proactive monitoring options.

💉 We also offer a simple blood test that can be used alongside your pet’s routine care for added reassurance.

✨ And don’t forget: FREE lump testing (FNA) is available until 31 May.

If surgery is recommended, you’ll also receive $100 off surgery costs during the campaign period.
