Hey everyone,

Apologies for the quiet patch here at Native Scales. This isn’t my primary job, and my main job, university studies and family keep me flat out at times. That said, everything is going well behind the scenes with the snakes, and projects are continuing as planned.

We’ve been flat out assembling our custom-built PVC vivariums by the incredible . These beauties measure 1800mm L x 900mm D x 600mm H, giving our BHPs the ultimate luxury living space.

Each enclosure features Arcadia Jungle Dawn LED lights for perfect daytime lighting and 125W radiator heat panels to keep our BHPs nice and toasty. These setups are an absolute game-changer!

We can’t wait to see our Black Heads explore their new homes! Stay tuned for more updates as we bring these vivariums to life.

Maggie displaying her classic defensive stance, but it is all for show. Black-headed Pythons often rely on bluffing rather than aggression, making them a fascinating species to keep and observe. Her reduced pattern (pinstripe) makes her even more unique and attractive.

Procrastination level: Expert! Should be building vivariums or tackling uni assignments, but the hatchling room has me hypnotised. Coastal carpet pythons may not hit the same the same as our black heads but there is something about their elegance that keeps pulling me back. I just get lost in their scales and patterns.
