Training horses, retraining thoroughbreds is so bloody difficult, the downs are far more common than the ups and I think I quit 10 times a day. Then you get a picture like this, and it makes it all worth it! Cricket so very nearly had a sad ending to his story, after his racing injury very nearly ended his life, but after a second opinion and 12 months rehab he began retraining before I found his forever home with Bri. These two are so Inlove with each other it warms my cold heart ❤️ seeing them at pony club, and competing and eventing, but then sharing moments as precious as this is everything I could of dreamed of for any of my past ott’s, thank you Bri for loving him, he’s a special boy to hold your heart! Would you believe me if I told you there is less than 8 weeks between these photos?
Mossy went through a period of pain which dramatically affected his condition, his skin and coat were dull and sensitive with rubs and irritation.

‘Billy’s girl’ a 4yo Tarzino mare in for some pretraining when I noticed she is quite sore in her backend! Some consultation with her trainer/ owner and she visited Shane Williams from ‘equine acupuncture’ and he discovered a semi healed tear in her ilicaus muscle, some shockwave and ultrasound therapy later and she will now spell for 6 weeks with us before being retreated and commencing a rehabilitation program!
Sammy as she is know at home, is very lucky to have an owner/trainer who is willing to provide what she needs and spend the time and necessary funds to get her feeling tiptop before she races again!

Fresh clip for this grey who turned silver! Washed with from kelatoanimalhealth and a hot oil treatment with the hairy_pony coat conditioner for that polished shine!

Hot tip! If your horse has started shedding then it is too late to clip, however, if they have not yet started shed then you are still safe to clip! This is because the summer coat has not yet started to come through and you don’t risk clipping the summer hairs!

Bay Moss attended his first group lesson on Sunday with Sam Jeffree. He was very good and handled the group environment well, he jumped everything he was asked to and once some more hind end strength and conditioning comes he will make a lovely eventer! Looking forward to his eventing debut at Friends of Werribee HT!

Pole work exercises part 1! A nice little transition challenge for our gymnastics exercise this week! This one tests preparation, responsiveness to aids both up and down, straightness, suppleness and balance whilst ensuring the rider has control of their aids and correct timing! Next time your bored of another day of flat work, give this exercise a go!

Tramontana or as his owners called him ‘Monty’ is our first PRESET program horse from Racing Victoria and what a beauty he is! Can’t wait to get cracking with this guy! He has a few weeks of rehab left from a tendon injury which will suit him well as he settles in and stacks on some kgs! Then this beautiful boy will begin his life after racing!
