Another bitter sweet moment when a program finishes and we’ve been working with puppy Eevee and her gorgeous family.

Our live was full of calm and loads of information for us and her family. By far our longest absence and it was a great opportunity to see how Eevee handles waking from a nap and being alone.

This can be challenging for puppies, still learning about frustration and tolerance and it can also be hard for older dogs.

Well, Miss Eevee nailed it, she slept, she toileted herself, she slept, she ate from her bowl, she slept and slept, she was amazing.

While we find most dogs tolerate alone time training when not confided, her family have been working on pen and crate training and leaving her confined with access to the dog door for periods during the day. This is a great skill for puppies to learn and this worked well for her alone time training, she loves her pen and crate and finds this space to be her safe place and a very positive experience.

So happy for the family, Eevee is doing so well!

It was lovely to meet this gorgeous boy in person yesterday.

We’re helping his folks with some noise sensitivity issues and will be referring them to a VB for a more holistic approach to his training.

It takes a villlage!

We had a great live session with Eevee this week, we ended up calling Mum back just over the 1 hour mark, she nailed 1 hour and 7 minutes of comfortable alone time.

Well done

If only I could sleep this comfortably and soundly 🤣

There are some gorgeous eyes in there somewhere!

We had a great catch up session with Mae and her folks today. Introducing calming exercises, smartening up her lead skills and some engage/disengage drills.

She did really well, it’s now down to exposure, consistency and practice.

Finishing our programs is bitter sweet - we have loved working with Ace and his folks, on his alone time training and his progress is coming along nicely.

What comfortable alone time looks like for each dog is individual to your dog. There will be regressions but we remain constant and keep putting one step in front of the other.

Ace has a lot of noise fears, he suffers in silence and it can be heartbreaking to see. Together with alone time training, we’ve been providing some strategies to help Ace cope better with the noises in his home.

Looking at his gut health and a visit to their Vet to assess his medication, we target his health and behaviour holistically - it truly takes a village!

Looking forward to hearing their progress reports in the future.
