Thank you King Clyde 👑💔

Clyde was the very first stud for Wolki Schnauzers. I’ve always said I lucked out because he ticked every box - from genetic health to looks and temperament. He had it all.

He fathered many puppies over the years. It was impressive how he consistently produced amazing puppies that displayed his great qualities. He’s been a big part of my families life, it’s sad that this chapter has now passed.

Thank you Clyde. Rest easy 🕊️

So excited to welcome this litter! My last litter was born in January so it’s been a little quiet around here (a nice break though since I’ve been looking after my own baby!)

“Hi Hannah. We wanted to send through some photos of Wynter - he got his first proper schnauzer cut today. He is such a beautiful pup - the perfect combination of affectionate, clever and playful 🩵 Oh and he literally never barks at anything! He is fully grown now at 6.5kg. Thank you so much for our gorgeous little boy 🐾”

Over the last few months I’ve had to desex 2 of my up and coming breeding girls from my breeding program.

They did not pass the health tests I do.

It is very difficult to find quality breeding dogs that tick all the boxes and there’s more things to consider when selecting a breeding dog then people realise.

THIS is the difference between buying from a professional breeder and buying from a backyard breeder. The term ‘backyard breeder’ refers to puppy farmers but also people who decide to breed their pet for fun. From the naked eye, these dogs are perfectly healthy and do not display any symptoms. Genetics are complicated, that’s why tests are important. Just because a dog doesn’t display symptoms, doesn’t mean their puppies won’t.

Every health test result goes through my vet, who often consults specialists or does further research to get a deeper understanding of the results.

Of course I cannot guarantee perfect health in a puppy as there’s many factors involved. There’s health concerns that can’t be tested for, environmental reasons and bad luck!

Putting time, effort and finances into these dogs only to find out I can’t breed from them is incredibly disheartening. This is the true nature of professional dog breeding that people don’t get to see and the reason why it’s so important to adopt your puppy from a good source.

Wolki Schnauzers is celebrating 8 YEARS! 🎉

I never imagined this breeding program would grow to become what it is today! There are challenges and heartbreaking moments when dealing with birth and young puppies regularly, but I wouldn’t trade this job for anything.

One of my favourite parts about this job is seeing the joy these puppies bring their new families.

Over the last 8 years, many of my puppies have gone on to become therapy dogs in aged care homes, schools and support dogs for people with Bi Polar and Autism.

Many young families come to me for their first family pet. It’s extra special knowing my pups will be the dogs that these children remember from their childhood.

I often have people adopting from me when their beloved dog has passed and after some time they are ready to welcome another companion into their lives.

Every customer comes with a story.

It has been an absolute joy to raise these puppies and see them enjoy life with their families. I look forward to continuing for many more years ❤️

I’ve heard some really funny dog names over the years of being a dog breeder 🤭 I think people are becoming more creative and steering away from typical pet names!

Did you know that black mini schnauzer pups are often born with white patches on their chest (I like to call this their superman patch!) and sometimes white paws? 🐾
This usually grows out over time 😊
