A little behind-the-scenes post from me today.. 🤍

A few months ago I welcomed two Golden Retriever girls, Millie & Elsie, with hopes for my future breeding program. As part of my process, I complete PennHIP scoring before breeding — and unfortunately, Elsie did not pass.

It’s incredibly disheartening when you consider the time, effort and financial investment involved.

Elsie is a beautiful dog and she’ll live a happy life with her guardian family, she’s just not suitable for breeding.

Ethical breeding means making the right decision, even when it’s a hard one.
