🐔 How Our Live Poultry Auctions Work 🐔
If you’ve never been to a Live Poultry Auction, it’s a fun, fast paced and exciting way to buy birds. Here’s what to expect on the day 👇
First, when you arrive you’ll head to the front desk and pay $2 for a bidder number. This number becomes your bidding ticket for the auction.
Before the auction begins, you can walk around and view the birds. This is a great chance to see the breeds available, chat with other poultry keepers and decide which birds you might like to bid on.
When the live auction starts, the birds are brought out pen by pen and presented by the auctioneer.
If you want the bird, simply raise your bidding ticket so the auctioneer can see your bid.
The auctioneer will continue taking bids until no one bids higher.
When the auctioneer calls “Sold!”, the highest bidder wins the bird.
After the auction:
• Winners take their winning slip to the desk and pay
• Cash and EFTPOS accepted
• A steward will assist with collecting your birds
Please remember to bring suitable transport boxes for taking birds home.
Even if you’re not planning to buy, you’re very welcome to come along, watch the auction and enjoy the day with other poultry lovers.
It’s a great community event and a fantastic way to learn more about poultry 🐓
