Oranda Goldfish: Fancy, Friendly & Full of Personality

Oranda goldfish are one of the most recognisable fancy goldfish, known for their rounded body shape, flowing fins, and signature head growth called a wen.

They are peaceful, interactive, and make a stunning feature fish in the right setup. Orandas do best with good filtration, stable water, and tankmates that won’t outcompete them for food.

On 15 September 2025, Christian and Aimee flew to Sydney to take part in Seachem Platinum Training.

Over two full days, they studied the ins and outs of Seachem and Aqua Vitro products, then completed the certification test.

They are now officially Seachem Certified.

A great achievement and another step in bringing stronger product knowledge and advice to A1 Aquarium World customers.

Is your heater actually working?

Winter is when aquarium heaters really get tested.

A heater can look fine at a glance, but if your tank temperature is dropping overnight, your fish can become stressed fast.

A few quick things to check:
🌡️ Tank temperature in the morning and at night
🔌 Heater light is turning on properly
📏 Thermometer reading matches your setting
🐟 Fish are active and behaving normally

If your fish seem slow, are hiding more, or not eating like normal, temperature is one of the first things to check.
