Unley Vet Surgery - Pets and their People We are here for you and your furry friends Pets and their People is a team founded by Alan Dalgarno, Veronica Wah Day and Peter Hangartner.

Since 1998 we have been caring for your pets at the Unley, Fulham Gardens and Black Forest Veterinary Surgeries. In 2013 Pets and their People was created and every member of our teams recognizes that you and your pet share a unique bond. As pet owners the bond we share with our pets greatly enhance our lives, bringing joy and companionship, creating strong social and community networks, enhancing

physical and mental health and well being. Facilities and equipment are merely part of the foundation of what we do…Our vets and nurses thrive on continuing education, and as a team we continually analyse what and why we do things. We have a diverse team of professionals that share a common set of values especially regarding the important role pets play in our lives. We strive to be great communicators and offer the highest standard of veterinary care. We then tailoring that care to suit you and your pets individual needs. We see our role as providing opportunities to maintain and optimise your relationship with your pet. Together with our great team, our mission is to continue to care for you and your pets to enhance your lives together. We have three Adelaide vet surgery locations: Fulham Gardens Vet Surgery in Adelaide's western suburbs, Unley Vet and Black Forest Vet Surgeries in Adelaide's inner eastern and southern suburbs.

Meet Bruce and his lovely owner ❤️

She has rescued many senior German Shepherds and Bruce is lucky enough to find himself in her care.

Like many Shepherds he has some joint and back pain now that he's 9. Mum has already been providing Antinol supplements and Synovan injections to help support joint health, and he gets regular gentle exercise.

All this has helped, but these cold winter days mean Bruce is a bit slow to get up and down lately. Today he had some soft tissue release to help with the aches and pains. He also had a blood test now that he's a senior so we know what pain medications are most appropriate for him. He's also going to check in with our physio at our Wayville practice to get an exercise plan.

By keeping Bruce active and comfortable, his muscles gain strength and the joints lubricate themselves better. It also keeps him at a healthy weight. Starting to make changes early on means we can slow the progression of painful arthritis.

We are honoured to help care for the senior pets in your family. Like you, we look forward to helping them live their best lives well into their golden years.
