highly skilled professionals in our field and will always put in 100% to get the best outcome for our clients, ensuring the experience they have with us is positive and productive. Doggy daycare: Our doggy daycare facility runs from 6:30am till 6pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). During daycare all dogs of all ages from 8 weeks onwards can play and learn to socialise in a fun and safe environment. As we are primarily a behavioural training centre, we do implement rules and some training practice in playtime as well as ensuring dogs learn to understand polite play and interaction. Academy: This is a 5 week course and includes three levels from Puppy to Teenager or Adult, they will attend for one full day once a week. This service runs alongside our daycare but allows the opportunity to work on more detailed and specific training goals. With a focus on training during the day and some small socialisation sessions this will give you the chance to polish up some skills or to ensure you start your pup on the right paw. We do also offer casual Academy visits on days that aren’t already fully booked if you would like to book a once of session please just ask. Socialisation therapy: This program is a specialised service to help rehabilitate dogs with more serious behavioural problems including anxiety, reactivity and fear aggression, that may need extra support and guidance to learn how to socialise or build confidence. Your behavioural trainer will work one on one with your dog and provide homework, reports and ongoing support during the process of helping your dog through this challenging time and work towards helping your dog and you achieve your goals. Group training classes: Our group classes include
o K9 Kindy for the early stages of learning with a goal to equip you with the right information and skills to help raise your puppy to be confident, well-behaved, well socialised and prepared to handle all of lives challenges ahead. o Level 1-4 life skills and obedience for the next stages of learning to ensure your dog grows into a well-adjusted and great Canine good citizen that can have life-long learning and make you proud. These classes include obedience that is focussed on day-to-day life-skills training and teaching them the necessary skills for our busy lifestyles and environment. o Behavioural Therapy is a group lesson which is specifically catered to helping dogs and owners working through behavioural problems in a small group setting. The problem behaviours we will mostly be working on are:
• Anxiety
• Fear of dogs or people
• Aggressive behaviours
• Reactivity on lead
• Other anti-social or problematic behaviours
During the lesson you will generally be given 45-50 minutes of either active or passive training activities to work on in the group and the final 10-15 minutes will involve the trainers giving each of the owners in class homework exercises and assisting all owners to have a positive exit of the venue. Please be considerate of your dog and other dogs personal space requirements during this lesson. Classes can be bought either as a single class or a pack of 6. If you wish to purchase a 6 pass please contact staff. Depending on the severity of the problem you may require a private consultation before attending these lessons. o Open sessions are booked on a week by week basis and will allow you to work on a variety of different skills. In this class we will often cater to several different dogs and owners desires with the trainers circulating to allow some one on one attention as well as group activities for everyone to help trouble-shoot. During the lesson you will generally be given 50 minutes of either active or passive training activities to work on as part of the group and the final 10 minutes will involve the trainers giving each of the owners in class homework exercises and assisting all owners to continue consistent training on their way out. We recommend this class if wanting to work on a specific skills or area or if you would like to refine already learned skills and improve them. o Adventure classes are designed to test your dog’s obedience skills in several different distracting environments, whilst also having some fun! The classes will involve meeting at a different location each week, working on manners and obedience skills in high distraction environments. These locations will include: National Parks, beaches, dog friendly coffee shops & other public areas. Distractions will range from people to dogs and traffic. You will receive the meeting location of each lesson during the week prior to the class. Including additional information about the area, so that you are aware of different distractions that may take place. There may be occasional changes to the location, but we will always provide ample notice. Classes will run for one hour each week for 6 weeks. o Off Lead classes: These classes are designed to help polish up your dogs off lead listening and reliability skills with a strong emphasis on recall and listening to their owner when high levels of distractions are around, including other dogs. The off lead course is the perfect option if you want a dog that is more interested in being with you then running off to everything else when they have the freedom to be off lead. Private consultations: We also provide private one on one consultations where we can assess your dogs problems one on one and set-up you up with a specific personalised plan. These appointments can cater to any and all of your needs whether it is for training or behavioural problems we will be able to cater to your desires. Private consultations can take place in the comfort of your own home, at ABT or any other environment you would like. We also offer short 30-minute appointments for a more basic assessment starting steps and some foundations along with good direction on what to do to help you achieve your goals for your dogs training or behaviour problems. Workshops: We regularly hold workshops for specific needs such as Self-control training, lead skills and a range of other subjects. If you have an interest in a workshop please contact us and we will keep your details to contact you with the next available dates. Some of these workshops will be short 1.5 hour workshops others will be more in-depth with a 3 hour time frame including our newest workshop addition which is our Puppy Raising workshop providing theory and practical learning to help you ensure your puppy gets the best start in life and you are prepared to raise a happy, well rounded lifelong companion. Grooming: Our experienced groomer can provide anything from a wash and dry to a full pamper and haircut to keep your fluffy friend looking and feeling fabulous. Grooming services are available on set days and times so please book ahead to arrange a day that works well for you. We can also provide nail clipping, ear cleans and a**l gland expression if your dog is due for a pedicure. You can book just for a groom or have your dog in for daycare then groomed in the afternoon going home fresh and clean after a hard days play. Doggy supplies shop: We have a range of products available in our shop including toys, treats, training equipment and other cool doggy needs. Our shop is available from 9am till 6pm but if you require equipment fitting, please call ahead so we can make a time with one of our trainers. The shop is also available on lead with a delivery service included if you are not able to make in to see us within a time frame that works with your busy lifestyle. Deliveries take 1-3 business days and can include small to large items to suit the busy dog owners lifestyle. Online training courses: We also offer a range of courses and training modules to suit all needs from puppy training and raising through to resolving behavioural problems all you need to do is go onto the site, choose your course then follow the instructions. www.abt-plus.com
