~~~~~~ FOODS FOR BUNNIES ~~~~~~~~
PLEASE remember moderation is the key here. They can’t stomach a lot a once or every day. A bit of information- Bunnies can’t burp, pass wind or vomit. So what goes in must literary comes out the other end. Good fruit veg plants for bunnies. Good foods hay, fruit, veg, herbs, flowers, for bunnies
Hay, oaten hey, Timothy hay, Meadow hay, grass hay
Lucerne is high in calcium & low in fibre & two matches can course urinary problems. Limit amounts
Herbs—Coriander, Basil, Chicory, Alfalfa sprouts, chives, peppermint leaves, thyme. Rosemary –flea killer & stops flea infestation get them to eat it. Sorrel- soothing cooling increases blood flow. Mint, helps increase intestinal health & decreases milk flow great for lost litters. Garlic- prevents a lot of disease & prevents shock, high antiseptic
Parsley- rich in iron good treatment of urinary problems the whole plant can be used, roots are used for constipation & intestinal obstructions. Fruit— apple no seeds and core, stem fruit, blue berry, kiwi fruit, peach, pear, pineapple, plum, watermelon
Black berry-use leaves fruit helps cool bunnies down by increasing circulation can also help stimulate appetite. Banana- due to vitamin b 12 & potassium, it encourages weight gain & stimulates appetite, use all the fruit skin & fruit can also use the dried banana. Strawberry- antiseptic properties as well as cooling to the rabbit by increasing blood flow, use leaves, roots, & berries, specifically the leaves are rich in iron & supposed to prevent miscarriage, may be used externally for inflammation, sore eyes & rashes. Veg— celery, bok Choy, Zucchini, tomato, celery leaves, carrots & tops, artichoke, pumpkin, spinach, sweet potato, red tomato fruit only not stem or green ones,
Flowers—Hibiscus flowers, lavender, lemon balm, raspberry leaves, stem fruit, rose petals & leaves,
Raspberry- treats retained afterbirth by encouraging blood flow to organs, in proves does condition during pregnancy ensures a speedy strong birth and increases intestinal health. Chamomile- flower it’s a calming, pain relieve used as a fusion tea calms them down also can be used for bathing weepy eyes. Unsuitable food & poisonous
Avocado, Cabbage, Lettuce, potatoes, rhubarb, beans, peas, salads with dressing, cakes/sweets, chocolate, biscuits, sugar, onions, and pickled foods, anything that is not fresh must be food you can eat yourself.
