Tiny little Hot Gossip had twin boys this morning, she barely looked big enough for one so I was quite shocked when she popped out 2. They are easily the smallest kids we have ever had born here (i need to find something to do a comparison photo with to see just how tiny they are). Baxter managed to miss every other girl that was in with him so these will be our only babies for a few months yet.
They will be available together as a wether pair, deposit can be paid to secure them until they are ready to go in a few more weeks.

We have our 10th Australian Champion that we have titled and the 9th Australian Champion bred by us.

The goat with the most points (as we affectionately started to call her)
💜BENCLUE DUTCHESS💜
has finally gained the permanent title of MGA Australian Champion.

Dutchess has always been super consistent in the show ring, rarely coming home without Champion or Reserve. She gained her 100 points and 2 Supremes what seems like forever ago but as her supremes were under the same judge she required a third under our rules with a different judge.

We took her off the team for awhile to give some of the younger does a go and because the extra supreme started to feel like it was never going to happen. She is the type of doe though that always looks amazing in the paddock without much care or maintenance, her coat is always slick and shiny and she just always catches your eye. So it was decided she was looking way too good to be a paddock ornament and for Mt Pleasant and Mt Barker we would give her one last shot. Mt Pleasant saw her get Champion doe but she was pipped for best Adult... but Mt Barker was her day and she finally did it!

Some just hit a little different and this was definitely one of those moments, we share a birthday and in a lot of ways she's probably my heart goat. Talisha always says we share the same attitude (mainly when Dutchess is showing her stubborn side, not sure why she thinks that!🤣)

Dutchess is the third goat by Grand Champion Benclue Baxter to achieve this title and we are super proud of him and Dutchess. 💜

We have a couple of Pygmy girls available, preferably to go as a trio with one of the mentioned bucks. Will consider separating. All have been shown successfully, Delilah is already an Australian Champion, Ariahna has 64points towards her title and Otis 62 with one Supreme each.

On Saturday at Mt Barker Show we were presented with the 2025

🏆Trevor Waterson Memorial Trophy🏆

This is a high point award for the Breeders Trio class and is awarded to the Breeder that has the most points in this class over the year.

The class is judged on both a breeders consistency and quality within their line up which hopefully showcases the breeding direction of the stud and the type of animals they want to produce.

It was established 3 years ago after Trevor Waterson, an all round great guy, goat guru and supporter of MGA passed away. 😪 💔

I was greatful to have met Trevor only 3 times, but still have his words of wisdom in the back of my mind when making many of our breeding decisions. He loved this class and god did he love to talk goats and share his knowledge. 🥰

It is an absolute privilege to win this award that helps keep the memory of this great man alive. I still smell his aniseed soap everytime I hear his name and picture him with that cheeky grin💜
