🚫 To Our Valued Trainers –
A Message from BTG 🚫
We’d like to take a moment to clarify how BTG Greyhound Rehoming accepts greyhounds into our program, as we’ve had a few questions and some unfortunate rumours circulating.
👉 Dogs are accepted in order, as much as possible, based on when they were assessed and registered with us and the availability of foster homes.
➡️ The only exceptions to this are when we have a foster home available for a specific need — such as a cat-friendly greyhound, or a dog requiring medical or behavioural support.
We want to be very clear:
❌ We DO NOT accept bribes, gifts, or extra payments in exchange for moving dogs ahead on the list.
✅ A small placement fee is required from trainers to help us cover basic costs — this is standard practice and necessary to keep our program running.
💛 If you choose to make an additional donation, it’s deeply appreciated — but it will not result in priority placement for your dog.
❗️We take the integrity of our program seriously. Any individual found to be spreading false rumours about BTG accepting money to fast-track dogs into care will not be accepted into our program going forward.
These rumours are not only false, they are hurtful and unfair to our dedicated team, who work tirelessly in their own time to help retired greyhounds find the loving forever homes they deserve.
We know the majority of trainers support and respect the work we do, and we’re so grateful for that ongoing trust.
