Finally after a few months! My Himalayan cavy had babies! π cross fingers for a showable one or two! πππ
A bit of back story..
I came home yesterday and immidiately checked on my Himi pregnant girl as I know she is due anytime. Lucky I came home a few minutes early from work. The bubs are still all wet indicating that they're just born 5 to 10 minutes ago, but one is away from the rest. Saw the 1 bub still enclosed with her amniotic sac and can not really move at all and just barely have the tip of her nose gasping for air due to the amniotic sac that still all over her and trapping her. I quickly picked the bub up and she was as cold as ice! π₯Ά and no movement so I quickly heated the heat pillow and put the bub on it after, while I continuously massaging the bub making sure he is breathing (faint breaths). After a few minutes the bubs started to warm up and the bub took her first big breath and move her head so I returned her back to mum. I'm thinking that if mum didn't took care of her and left her out then there should be a reason why the bub has been left out by mum and I was thinking maybe there's something wrong with the bub.
I was hoping for the best in the morning that I will see the bub in normal state. The photo shows that the bub seemed to have recovered. Hoping for the bubs continious growth and good health.
